We all know there is a strong chance the Hero and Champ are turning up in 3. Heck by the sounds of 2 that could be one of the main quests! I personally would think it would be best to have the Champion somehow have his personality imported from 2 and to avoid people complaining that their warden doesn't sound right, have the champion or other NPC constantly interupt him, or act all chrono tigger style and never speak.  In my head one meeting could then go three ways

I: Who are you?
C: I am Serah Hawke Champion of Kirkwall (Bows), and this is the Warden Commander or you may know him as the Hero of Fereldan.
W; (Bows) He...
(Enemies appear and begin attacking)
C: Come their will be time for talk later, to arms!

or 

I: Who are you?
C: Oh me? No one important.. well, I have been known to be call the Champion of Kirkwall, but most please just call me Hawke. Well actually most people call me alot of other things too but hawke will be fine!
W: (Nods)
C: Oh yes this chatty fellow here is the "Hero of Fereldan".Some would call him the strong silent type.. I just call him rude...
(Enemies appear, warden charges off)
C: See what I mean? Not even  a charge or anything! Just plain rude if you ask me...

or

I: Who are you?
W: I
C: Champion Of Kirkwall, Hero Of Feredlan you must be the Inquistor..
(Enemies appear)
W: We
C: Enough chat, I've got things to kill...

Having the Warden simply gesture at the PC while staring blankly at the screen would be a good in-joke, for sure.

I agree. My warden was an Elf as well and if they change him to DA2 style i'm gonna be pissed.

I don'tknow anything about the story of DA3 however I'd guess that a mage Warden who is friends with the King of Feraldan, has a living god for a son and Morrigan as his partner... It'd be a big deal when he steps into the story.

Mage Hawke, meeting up with Mage Warden then finding the inquisitor... yeah they're kinda a big deal on that planet.

Edit: I Like the second option, however it wouldn't bother me too much if the Warden was voiced and the one guy does each race, should be too hard to do as long as Warden and Hawke are busy at the time and only show up for a couple mission.  I'd really like DLC that allows us to play as Hawke or the Warden.

Eh, put me in the 'no cameo' camp. I just want characters from DA:O who had intimate relationships with the Warden to make it clear that the Warden had a significant and lasting impact on their lives.

But if I had to choose, I would go with option 3.

Yes.  Good.

But more seriously, put me down as another for 'not at all'.  My warden just wants everyone to leave him alone so that he can go retire, maybe build a cabin out in the middle of the woods somewhere.  The most he will ever have to worry about is demonic trees coming alive to set down roots in his front lawn, and that's the way I want it, okay? QQ

It'd be extremely cool if they appeared together.

That said, I'm really not fussed about how they appear. I liked the cameos from Origins in Dragon Age 2, so I'd personally be fine with more of the same. Maybe just . . moar?

It's not going to happen, because too many people are wrapped up with "but my Warden looks like X and did the Y ending and would never be.." that would promptly swamp the forums the second anyone finds out about it.

It's best they be left out, unless they take up the protagonist role again.

Why couldn't they include a character creator for the Warden?  My Shepard looked funny when I imported him to ME2 so I had to change him for the new engine... why can't the same be done for DA3?

Warden cameo: My new character visits the Warden's grave. There's a statue over the grave of the Warden looking all awesome and a plaque that the player can read that basically says how awesome the Warden is and how Thedas owes her forever.

Hawke: My new character stumbled upon a camp in the wilderness. They find a lost diary page written by Merrill. It basically says her and Hawke stayed there for a bit, they're doing good and now they're heading off somewhere else.

Another possibility would be seeing Hawke and Merrill walking through a city together and talking to each other. They'd eventually walk away and disappear and you wouldn't be able to go up and talk to them, only listen to what they have to say.

I'd like to see something like the original post suggested.

If that's not possible, perhaps entering a huge dungeon (for a quest to find some artifact) where everyone is dead is an option. Endless darkspawn corpses, piles of ogres, bloodstained walls. And at the end of the dungeon, a broodmother, dead, with bloodwritten words on the wall: "Sorry, me and Captain Talkative got here first. No sweat. Cheers, H."

Well, having my Warrior Queen of Fereldan, her husband and Mabari Fluffums show up and start kicking the sh!t out of everything would be awesome...or Alistair could hang back awkwardly and talking with the protagonist while his wife and her War Hound kill everything. XD

My Warrior Hawke would show up and aid the protagonist in something- I dunno maybe getting attacked by loads of demons and she shows up? (Maybe her LI Merril is with her? After all Varric states the LI doesn't leave Hawke's side and it would be neat if they were travelling together.) So Hawke helps the protagonist, they have a bit of a chat (Hawke comdemming or encouraging them on their choice? Pro-mage pro-templar?) then departing.

Something quick and clean, like Alastair's cameo in DA2.
