How many of you guys are hoping for a Varric romance? I know I am!
Dwarves, especially the funny, chest haired ones need some loving too!

PAX panel slideshow montage said something about companions with "Varric!" in parenthesis next to it.Rawgrim wrote...

I hope Varric comes back as a companion, but I also hope DA3 isn't just him telling a story to someone. That's one of the things I didn't really like about DA2. I hate it when a game doesn't take place in the now but is being told through flashbacks or something.

That sounds like some very trustworthy information you have there...

Yeah we haven't had a dwarf romance yet have we? Don't see any reason why not.
He does come off as a bit of a womanizer, though.

We don't know that he's coming back, and I hope he doesn't.

I'd like him too come back, even if it's just a cameo.

Varric was hardly my favorite Dragon age companion. But he was my fav DA2 companion so at least that's something
. He was a pretty well executed companion overall I think and I wouldn't be disappointed if he returned.

Agreed. I loved the time format of DA2 because it allowed me to see the results of my actions play out better(rather than waiting for DA3 and DA4 to see the results of a decision like god baby), but I was not pleased that it was occurring in a "bard telling the tale" format. Works fine in novels, just reduces immersion a little since even the player can't be absolutely sure that the 'decisions' he's making are the true story. Its practically open justification for a canon Hawke.

Phsaw. The only woman in his life is Bianca.

I liked Varric, probably the only character from DA2 I did really like, but I hate that he is only able to use the crossbow, now wait to I explain. I prefer to have a choice in what to equip my rogue with, in most cases I do use a bow but with Isebela I didn't have a choice.
