I want to get rid of ALL romance.

Want romance? Go play date sims.

After that garbage we got in DA2, I'm on board with this.

You can't dream but sorry he is 100 % straight :D

You can dream, but sorry, you will not get what you want.

Romances are optional, but expensive. Demanding that a romance be made to suit your limitations or not at all will only end one way. Sure, some people don't like romances and having them cut from the game will make these people happy. Perhaps they do not like the reminder of things that are missing from their own lives. Whatever. But for those of us who do enjoy the added dimension in-game relationships add, it's better to avoid making those demands in the first place.

The world is not like it was when DA:O came out. People are a lot more accepting of s/s relationships. There is no reason to cling to outdated beliefs. After all, back in the days of BG2, female protagonists were limited to the choice between Anomen and... Anomen. We've come too far to start back-sliding now.

No..Cullen was in two games and never showed even a hint of bisexuality.

If Bioware really starts butcheing and retconning every character, then frak them.

With respect, I'm puzzled by describing the possibility of Cullen being romanceable by a male character as a potential "retcon" – why does the fact that Cullen "never showed a hint of bisexuality" mean that there's no possibility he could ever have been anything but straight?

In the case of most real-life people who are bisexual, you wouldn't know they're bisexual unless they've told you – why would you assume that someone couldn't possibly be bisexual without bringing it up?

Now you're being offensive.  Yes, even if you don't know them, or they haven't come out to you, there are real people who are bisexual.  It's really not that hard to imagine.

Part of me is still perplexed over wanting Cullen as an LI to begin with. Can't we just have strong professional relationships with characters? Seriously, sometimes it seems like Bioware characters shouldn't have time to save their respective worlds with all the sexing they do lol

This excuse works for like one or two characters but are we going to really use this for every LI ever? "Oh, I like men and women, you just didn't know" everytime a returning characters becomes LI

It'll be even more awkward than just being unrealistic then..

You're right, but you're wasting your time, unfortunately. She is never going to get it.

Haters are loud, but there are fortunately very few of them. I don't think BioWare is going to go back to gender-restricted romances just because a small minority of players can't handle the idea that not everyone likes the same things they do.

That, and it's only a game.

It's simple. We kill the romance section.

I have to admit, so soon after seeing the Batman avatar, this cracked me up something chronic.

I have no problems with Cullen being Bi-Sexual. Then again I consider the general lack of focus on character depth, development and consistency far more troubling than a character being Player-Sexual or not.

Your statement was that *nobody* "in the life" are bisexual, so I took it at face value.  You don't seem to understand what it means.  Bisexuality is a sexual orientation separate from homosexuality or heterosexuality.  It's swell that you are happy for your gay friends, but if they identify as gay, they are exclusively attracted to those of their own sex and/or gender.  Bisexual people are attracted to both their own sex and the opposite sex.  As someone who identifies as bisexual, if I date a woman, I am in a homosexual relationship, but that does not magically stop me from being attracted to men.  If I did later date a man, that would not make either relationship less real or meaningful.

Out of curiosity, are you using Google Translate to type your posts?  I would suggest using Chrome and adding the Dictionary extension to help correct your spelling.  It would help get your points across better if your posts were more readable.

Hm...he's a Templar. There is a Templar vs Mage war. What else could be more important than fighting it/trying to stop it?!

If we'll have another m\\m character, then yes, if not...
He reminds me of Anders too much (probably because they were voiced by the same VO) and I want to see someone different for m/m romance.

Stopping it without being 2nd fiddle to the player character is what.

Sure, why not? I think Allan posted in another thread about why it's easier on the devs in terms of resources to have characters bisexual, and to just consider it a meta sort of game mechanic instead of letting it get under our skin.

Exactly, and I would say that is probably what they will do again.

The bisexuality of the LI's in DA2 was handled subtly imo, and did not affect their personality, in fact, I believe Bioware kept sexuality from influencing personality in any way (except characters like Isabela and Zevran, and still, it had no bearing on plot). Furthermore, although the LI's were bi, can you honestly say that their personality was changed whether romanced or not?

For example, my first playthrough was a female Hawke who romanced Anders and I had no idea that he was bisexual given the in game content. When I romanced him later as a male, he was still Anders, his sexuality had no bearing on who he was or what he was about in terms of story and character. And when I did not romance him, he was still Anders.

In no instance did any LI have their sexuality play a part in their convictions, choices, morality, or anything really, it was as separate as the option to romance at all is. In fact, if you did not romance any of them at all, at no point did any character (or more specifically any potential LI)  say, "Well I'm doing this or saying this because I'm bi."

In Origins, if Alistair had been bisexual, I think he still would have been the same goofy, shy, bastard of a king that he was, and Morrigan would have still been her athiest barbed tongued self out for an old god baby.

In short, let everyone have the option to romance whoever they want. Image IPB
