I just imported an ME1 save into ME2 and the game seems a little confused on whether I saved the Council or not. My Shepard definitely saved the Council, but Miranda inferred that they had been abandoned and killed. Then, upon visiting the Citadel, Captain Bailey mentioned the Council probably wanting to thank Shepard for pulling their bacon out of the fire. And just now, while visiting Anderson, he said the Council was refusing to see Shepard because she left their predessors to their doom.

I've opened my save file in Gibbed and the flag for 'Saved the Council' is definitely active, so I'm not really sure what's happening or how to fix it. I haven't even been able to find anyone else mentioning this issue, so...

Help? :?

For the record, this is the prologue text I received:

One month after the devastating geth attack on the Citadel, the galactic community struggles to rebuild.

The Alliance fleet made a tremendous sacrifice to save the Citadel Council and earned humanity membership in their prestigious group. Now the Council is forced to respond to evidence that the Reapers - enormous machines that eradicate all organic civilization every 50,000 years - have returned. To quell the rumors, the Council has sent Commander Shepard and the Normandy to wipe out the last pockets of geth resistance. Officially, they blame the invasion on the geth and their leader, a rogue Spectre.

But for those who know the truth, the search for answers is just beginning...

It's off-season for message forums still, until we get closer to the release dates for newer games, which starts stirring things up  at variable points between mid-October to mid-November. No one is here now, or hardly anyone. Have you tried EA's official support?
