I use the Wraith at times - shotgun infiltrator builds, aim for headshots. But it will take some time to bring down bigger baddies, like Atlai, Banshees, Primes.

Its not in the category of terrible/useless, but not one of the better URs, and if you don't mind the 1 shot, the reload canceling Claymore packs the real wallop.

I have the Wraith X and Talon VII right now and I roll with the Wraith every time. I use the shredder mod and smart choke and it has better range than the Talon and the accuracy circle doesn't increase with repeated shots like it does with the Talon.

The Piranha is a beast and does a good job as a powerful lightweight shotgun (like the Wraith) but I much prefer the Wraith's range. My favorite two shotguns are the Wraith and Reegar.

If my Wraith were higher level I might use it, but the main reason I don't is because of the long pause before being able to shoot again.

I use it on the shadow because I don't use a shotgun rail with that build ( strength enhancer) and I like the punch. At X it has the same cool down as piranha.

The Wraith isn't that bad. It works well against the phantoms. It's a good shotgun, better than most. The only downside is that it's not a great shotgun. The Wraith should have been a rare and the N7 Piranha should have been an ultra rare. Seriously, the Piranha even has N7 tagged to it's name -- it's the N7 Piranha not just Piranha. The Wraith? It's just the Wraith.

Also comments about Black Widow or Paladin being the worst ultra rares are pretty telling as far as the player base's weapon knowledge goes.

This. So this. I love my Piranha, but I facepalm at the notion of the Wraith sucking b/c my Piranha is good. Not even gonna get into the BW and Paladin.

The Wraith I can aim and get deliberate headshots from range... From mid-range the Piranha can only spam. Yes, the Piranha is incredibly powerful, but the only way to be efficient with it is to get right up in somebody's face, and some classes just aren't good at that, even though the Piranha makes it possible. The only reason I don't use my Wraith is because it's terribly under-levelled.

Wraith is a Spectre weap just like the BW/Pally

For me is synergizes very well with my QFI, and SI. I'd use it more but I only have four ranks put into it

At the levels that player had them, those two weapons are terrible. The BW is horrible untl level IV, then it can OSOK basic trooper with body shots and is fine.   The Paladin II is worse than a high level Carnifex. The Paladin isn't better than the Carnifex until level VI.

If we are going to be "fair" about it, then you have to compare apples to apples and realize that you can't discount a UR at level I because some rare at X might be "better."

Even if you don't do that, there are only a couple ultra rares that are really worth using at level I anyway so whichever you pick it is in good company.  Black Widow being horrible until IV isn't correct IMO.  Sure it is a lot better after that tipping point, but if you were getting headshots you were downing 3 basics per cloak cycle... something that only maybe the Valiant can do as well.  But it is a promotional which is in effect an "ultra ultra" rare.  Going out of the sniper class might find you something that could maybe do that, but those weapons have other deficiencies.

I enjoy the wraith whenever I use it but at its current state I don't think it should be an ultra rare. It needs a fire rate increase and maybe a tiny damage increase in my opinion. Also its so hard to get to X that it is kinda overshadowed by easier to get weapons.

I use it all the time on my engineers and QFI. Its synergy with power spamming techies is fabulous. Power, shoot, power,shoot, reload cancel with power and repeat.

Clip eviscerator=3, clip Wraith=2.
Single clip Eviscerator X DPS is 516.48
Single clip Wraith I DPS is 654.72
Single clip Wraith X DPS is 817.92

Single shot Eviscerator X: 516.8
Single shot Wraith I: 818.40
Single shot Wraith X: 1022.4

Slap on a shredder mod and barrel mod, go for headshots if you aim or shoot from the hip. I love this shotgun and just wish the store troll would give me a level X.

Oh and the Talon basic stats:
Clip Talon=4
Single clip Talon I DPS is 702.75
Single clip Talon X DPS is 878.25

Single shot Talon I: 562.2
Single shot Talon X: 702.6

The Talon beats the Wraith for a full clip DPS but not single shot damage.

A lot of people have made valid comments about the Wraith. I've always loved it and will use it on Caster classes who need a good cooldown while still delivering damage at versatile ranges.

You're not going to beat the Reegar or Piranha up close vs Bosses, but the Wraith without mods can OHK Centurions on Gold (please, someone correct me if this is no longer true).

I use it with characters which can spam powers in between, like the AJ, who can pull spam to stagger shielded enemies or cause them to dodge. As someone else mentioned, it also works very well with the BSo. BB, Shoot, Shoot, BB, and your next shot is reloaded just as the BB animation is finished.

I use SG Rail Amps sparingly, since shotties are my favorite, but I decided to put a SG Rail amp 3 on the Wraith to see what kind of damage it could do. I ran a Kroguard and was pleasantly surprised with the damage output. My cooldowns were low enough to constantly charge, and I could employ the same tactic for reloading as BBs.

Now, I love the Claymore, but I can't exactly use it on power spamming classes. Depending on the situation, I may opt for either the Wraith or the Piranha.

Right. Anytime that word is thrown about a good weapon I stop taking that person seriously.

I love the Wraith, it's my N7 Shadow's best friend. Works really great on my Turian Sentinel too, same for Asari Adept. Actually it works great on any setup that benefits from light and powerful weapons.

I'll have to try it again I suppose. Had a couple of very quick efforts with it and it did nothing for me at all. I'll have to give it another go this evening perhaps with my Bat solider or with an asari or drell vanguard.

I really like the Wraith. Get consistent headshots and it's a solid gun.

Plus, I find the Pirhana and Reegar Carbine to be mindlessly easy mode weapons. I don't think anything in the game is less fun to play with.

I do use the Claymore a lot, however.

I use the Wraith all the time. The only shotgun that's far ahead of it is the Piranha, and that shotgun is far ahead of everything else on that list anyway. It could use a little buff to be on the level of the Talon, but it's by no means "useless".

Also, what's the deal with people thinking that the Wraith used to have 3 shots per clip? That was never the case.

Slight exaggeration, but I have to admit, I prefer the Talon to the Wraith by far.

The Saber and Black Widow are both weaker than the Wraith.

You know not what you are talking about.  In the hands of a good sniper, both the BW and Saber owns.  Both are great on gold.  The BW can still own in platinum on some maps in the hand of a good sniper.  Interestingly, I haven't had much luck with the Saber on platinum.  I don't play that much anymore, but when I do, you will see me with the BW, Saber, Valiant, Scorpion, Hurricane, or Talon.  I have no need for more UR to get, so I hardly use the Piranha or Reegar anymore.
