actually thought about that as it has been suggested that a griffon could make a great pet instead of dog..

Hmm..wonder though how that will work if it's fullgrown and one can actually ride it Image IPB.

This one looks fluffy but big and very...viscious...

If they return they can be a monster that has to be fought and then maybe tamed. A rediscovered griffon that has become wild Image IPB.

Hokey Smokes! That's either the tiniest griffin in Thedas, or that ferret is monstrous!

The request was for a fluffy looking one. Those are supposed to be tiny Image IPB.

Maybe a side quest where you learn that there is a griffon in hiding. The last of its kind and you embark on a quest to either save it, sell it or kill it?

Yes let's get griffons in the mix. Those majestic bastards fighting a dragon as a unit would be cool to see! Or like andersislush said making a whole quest mission finding one. Maybe taking one from a majester who has kept one as a pet. Either way bioware make it happen!

I would like to see the griffon appearance on the shock level of when you've stumbled upon the broodmother. "Sscreeeecchhh!!!"

Oh come on. That "all the Gryffons are extinct" is SO setting up the 'last griffon egg' storyline where you hunt down the egg, then raise it, then have your companions comment on your griffon-training skills etc etc...

maybe after Dragon Age 3 we'll get another game called Griffon Age. then after that we could get Unicorn Age. and after that Bigfoot Age. But seeing Griffons in DA would be interesting. finding and having one as a baby pet thing would be fun. just like a mabari but with wings and a beak and claws.

Is this story going to have Griffons in it? If not I don't want to hear it.

Seriously though I thought a newly hatched griffon would make a great 'Dog' replacer one game. Not big enough to ride, but you can name it and it helps out in fights and amuses us in cutscenes with its card playing skills.

They meant to write in griffins, but I think there was a typo and they put in gibbons.

I would love to see something like this appear in the next installment:

I would too. Specifically this exact moment, what appears to be a snapshot of the instant before a crash landing. I imagine the next 5 minutes filled with flailing, waterlogged wings and a frantic, gasping dogpaddle. Majestic.

Grey Wardens really ride that...?

They did at one time, yes.  Exactly how long ago is a bit unclear, but presumably its been more than a single lifetime since the griffons went extinct.

I say no griffons for DA3. Why? Because I think DA4 (or some other future DA game) will focus on the Grey Wardens again, and that's the perfect opportunity to introduce the griffons. (Although hints or small mentions in DA3 of them being seen again would not go amiss).

That is probably the best way to introduce griffons, having one magically show up with no warning would be too... CRAP! I can't find the right wordImage IPB! Anyways, you know what I mean.
srry, i have still yet to master quotingImage IPBImage IPB
