I don't just mean Mahariel (the Dalish Warden) and Merrill's tribe, I mean the fate of the people as a whole. At the end of Origins, my FemMahariel asked of Queen Anora to grant some land for the Dalish tribes to settle, to which she agreed. So I thought that was all settled and that was that (aside from the fact that Keeper Marethari lead her tribe to the wilds near Kirkwall so that she could meet up with Hawke and fulfill her promise to Flemeth), the Dalish finally have a home they can call their own...

...Until I saw a vid on youtube where Hawke meets with King Alistair. Merrill is present and asks about the state of the Dalish in their new land, and Alistair sadly answers that it did not go well. When asked to elaborate, Alistair merely answers that he plans to make it up to the elves as per his debt to the Warden...

...Which leaves me speculating like crazy as to what could have happened. Were the Dalish driven out of Ferelden yet again? What could have soured the relations between the elves and humans? Why did Bioware have to mess up a happy epilogue for the elves? Argh. Now I have to wait til next year to find out the answer, but feel free to offer up your theories.

Hopefully, like all the Elves, they'll at least get a makeover and not be so f'ing ugly!

Because, it's dark fantasy. There is no happy ending.

"Happy Ending" example:
Marry King Alistair? You disappear.

I disagree. Dragon Age is more Heroic or High Fantasy than anything. It does not achieve the levels of cynicism and misery like that of The Witcher series or Berserk.
