 Would you still play it?

Yes.

To elaborate - Romances are not a requirement for me to purchase and play an RPG. Depth, complexity and rich story telling is.

I really think one of the things that gives life to the DA world is the romance so I personally think I would not play it.

Probably, but I'm 200% sure that it will.

Yes. Simply because I'm more curious as to what happens in this little MageVTemplar war. I will be a bit disappointed if the Qunari don't take advantage of though. However, I can say that if they are removed, it'll likely end up as my DA2. Sitting on the shelf gathering dust while I replay Origins for the 20th time.

Yeah. The romances are interesting sub plots, but they're not the point of the games.

Of course.Romances add a bit of additional flavour to the game, and due to the trend of having them in bioware games I might feel like somethings a miss, but in the end they're a pretty small part of the overall package and probably wouldn't affect my enjoyment of the game beyond the intial "bummer".

Really, I don't know why Bioware doesn't just throw in a marriage necklace a la Skyrim and call it a day, with the route they're going.

Yes. I'd actually LOVE to see a DA game with no romance options, and I'm a FAN of the romance subplots in Bioware games.

I would like to say yes, but if I'm being 100% honest? I don't know. I'm sorry, I know many people think the romances are just an unimportant minor feature that people obsess over, but they actually are an important part of Bioware games to me.

I think though:

Yes, romances are the least important part of any game I've ever played.

I would, of course, still play it.

Whilst the romances in BioWare games are what initially drew me in, I'm no longer a young'un and appreciate the other parts of their games much more.
Although it wouldn't be the same without them!

I suppose if all I had was corn, I would eat it. I would sure miss the butter, though.

I would not play it. To me the romances give us a break from the heavy in Bioware games. I know if something bad or intense is happening in my life I would want the person I love to be there to "take me away" so to speak from all that if only for a few minutes. So why not implement that in games?

If DA3 had no romance options these boards would be...interesting for some time. And by interesting I mean bat fecal matter insane, massive freakouts and possible death threats.

Dunno.

The romances aren't *the* most important part of the game, but if presented with the choice between replaying a game that had them and playing a new game that did not, I would probably replay the old game.

That might be more entertaining than the game itself, for awhile.

That's certainly my thought.

I mean most of the posts on this thread seem to suggest it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but if DA3 were to arrive sans romancable characters my gut tells me the forums would be aflame with outrage.
