If DA3 had no romance...

Of course. Romance adds an extra layer of immersion and depth to the npcs and companions it involves. If they manage that in some other way than romance then I don't mind not being able to romance anyone.

If they just remove it and give nothing in return I will not be pleased, however, since that's just laziness. We've seen enough of that with DA2.

Depends how I like the information they release between now and game launch. If everything else seems amazing but they didn't do romances, I'd probably still play. If I were on the fence and they announced no romances, I would not buy it.

Though that goes for most features. Sorry but a lot of game devs I trusted have let me down majorly lately, so I'm getting much more skeptical about getting excited for games and I'm not longer buying the game based on brand and title names.

Romances are probably the biggest reason I like Bioware games, so without them my interest in playing them would definitely be much smaller.

I'd be completely fine with it, assuming we get those resources back in some form, preferably to try something completely different.

No, don't think so.

I don't like the combat system, too slow. Story for DAO was very clichee. I work and have small kids, I raid on WoW weekly. My time for gaming is very limited. I would much rather replay a game I enjoyed than go play something with a clunky combat system and predictable story.

Bioware games are unique to me because of romance. There are a thousand other games to play if I just want to kill orcs.

I would be the saddest panda in the whole wide world, and like The Witcher I would probably only play it once, but I would still play it.

I would still buy it... but I think the obsessive necessity to preorder (for me) would disappear with the romances. I also doubt that I would give it more than one play-through, and I definitely wouldn't purchase the DLC... XD Just being honest!

^ This.

Plus it wouldn't be a Bioware game if it didn't have some kind of romance subplot.

If I wanted to mindlessly kill things, I would play Skyrim. If I wanted to just "romance" a character, I would play the Sims. But since I want both, I play Bioware games. :innocent:

I would still play it, but here is the thing even in DA:O and DA2 if you didn't want the romance aspect you just don't have to chose it. So aren't you still getting the no romance part if you don't want it?

I don't think romance option is necessary at all to be a "BioWare game". Having that doesn't automatically make the game good and in DA2 case, I think it made it worse.

Hmm probably not because it is core part of humanity and immersion and characterisation really suffer if you don't have that in it imo.

Of course, you can still build intimate relationships and have deep characterization without resorting to romance.

I would still buy the game if there was no romance, but I would probably wait to buy it when it's in the bargain bin, no romance is preferable to the wishy washy rubbish in Awakening and DA2.

Well, it wouldn't be a great game, but I'd still likely play it. It's always a treat to romance comkpanions or hear their banter based on who you romanced.

... it would make the game a lot poorer.

Cheesy romances won't fix a cliche plot or improve a clunky combat system.

Yes, probably. Heck, I like The Walking Dead even after what Telltale did to the blossoming romance in it. I was torn up, sad, maybe tiny bit angry too but damn what a game! :D

Yes, I'd still play. Heck, depending on the romance options I may not romance anyone anyway. For some reason I pretty consistently choose the rebel female mage, so if DA3 doesn't it's Morrigan or Merrill...

Yeah, I'd still play it. Although I do feel that the romances add a nice touch to Bioware games.
