The fandom will collectivly **** bricks then ****.

Yup, you all say that yeah sure we'll still play the game, but what you MEAN to say is:
" Oh yeah, we'll still play the game and all. But we will be pissed as hell, question Biowares intelligence and start to rage on forums and demand a DLC with romance.  "

If the game is awesome, why not. A RPG doesn't need romances to be good, and adding romance content to a RPG doesn't make the RPG surely good.
Still, I think it's a good feature, and I don't see the reason to take it out. And I doubt Bioware will do it.

I like the way you think. It reminds me of a time when I was younger, playing nothing but jrpg like pokemon & final fantasy games. I've never played an FF game for the romance, could care less honestly. It was always about the story & gameplay that ultimately reeled me in. My mentality is still the same regarding why I play rpgs: Story & gameplay. With BioWare however, "choice" is also an important ingredient in having me enjoy rpgs currently.

Sure.

Romance is just one way to create relationships between characters in an RPG. If well done it's great, but it's not a must. In fact, Bioware has yet to create a romance for females, that I as a male thought convincing.

In DA:O my female character went for Zevran, but dumped him for Alister so she could become queen. Neither of them felt really convincing, but well, I am not female. Zevran was amusing, at least. My male characters all went for Morrigan, because Leliana bored me witless. If there'd been only Leliana, I'd have skipped all romance. Morrigan is so delightfully wicked that she makes me laugh!

I suppose if all I had was corn, I would eat it. I would sure miss the butter, though.

All my life I have eaten corn and only Bioware gives butter.  I prefer butter If Im going to pay for dinner otherwise I'll just rent it... hmm that analogy fell apart at the end there.

No romance would actually make it more likely for me to buy and enjoy the game.

I used to like romances in my games, but then DA2 came along. Removing romances would most likely also remove a few of its unwanted side effects, and the overall game might be better for it.

DA3 would be better off with no romances.

Actually it should have one romance for all of you who think it is some integral part of the game. Her name? The mother.

Fixed and yes please

Yes I would. Though I greatly enjoy romances and would be sad to see them go; I'm still a huge fan of Dragon Age.

That's how I feel. Well-done romances are one thing, but with Bioware's push to save zots by making romances generic, which spills over into characterization, I'd rather just see them get cut completely. At this point, they might as well go full-Skyrim and throw in the absurd marriage necklace. It doesn't help that Bioware seems to think romance = playing therapist.

Yes. I think romances can be a good roleplaying opportunity, but DA2 ruined that with the "I win" button.

I'd consider buying the game if there were no romances.

This, as it would indicate time and effort has been spent on something that isn't just the mindless fanservice part of the game.

I am more worried about the release dates of both this game and the next--gen consoles. If the release of the consoles and the game coincide to the point that Bioware makes the move to the new consoles, I won't get it.

Romances in BioWare games seem to almost be trademark. I enjoy them for the added character depth they can create and is one of the reasons I play their games multiple times.

Would I still buy it without a romance? Sure, their RPGs are quite entertaining. However, I would be rather disappointed if they didn't include romances.

I'd be fine with no romance TBH. Especially if the PC gets shot down trying to start one.

lol As long as the person rejecting the PC says: "Oh Maker no! We're just friends, nothing more. Okay? Just friends." Then later you see him/her going after the one companion who's like your best friend in the game.

:) Huge Bonus points   couldnt have said it better myself   agreee 100%

The romance and story is the only reason I play Bioware games . If i  just wanted a boring game that  just went around killing stuff  i would  just play  something liie   skyrim  like m3 multiplayer  it is an example of  a game  I  have not given a second though to even trying  form what i have read of there poor attempt  at  romance or  other  such games.

I would still play Dragon Age 3 if they didn't include romance. Actually, the romances in DA are some of my least favorite in any game. The companions themselves are great, but the romances don't hold the same level of polish for me as the ones in Mass Effect do. So, personally I'd definitely still play DA3 if there were no romances.

However, I doubt that Bioware will neglect to include them.

I would still play the game if there was no romance, especially if the story was worth it.

I admit I like them and think it's part of what makes Bioware unique, but it's more like extra credit. It doesn't hurt not to have it, but it certainly helps. :wizard:

Yes, I definitely would. But I enjoy the romances so I'd be disappointed. Like it or not, they're a hallmark of the franchise so I wouldn't expect to see them go.

Yes, but I'd be severely disappointed. It's a nice option, and if people prefer their game with no romance, then the obvious choice would be not to romance anyone. If someone really wants to role play their protagonist as an independent and free individual who couldn't care less about being in a relationship, they can. If someone wants to role play their protagonist as someone who is desperate and/or open to being in a relationship, they can. Like I said before, it is a nice option and I hope that it continues in this franchise.

Yes, but I'd be cranky about it. Just playing Awakening the first time left me out of sorts.
