Wardens involved with Morrigan are the only ones who are acceptable to deal with this. Any new protagonist has no right whatsoever.

And you've been playing Dragon Age games more often than I have, I'd guess.  You also know the Warden's never going to be a PC again.  Neither will any of the Warden's companions be surprise long-term companions of any new PC, I'd imagine.

You already know that the Old Gods permitted Tevinter to conquer and rule in a bloody, terrifying manner.  You already know that if a being is possessed, they fall prey to a possessing spirit in as much as that spirit is interested in meddling with the world.  Justice became Vengeance and Anders was not an infant.  And the Old God that was Beauty has already destroyed all that the child would ever be.

Bring to mind that every turn comes to eventual tragedy, especially when great power is involved.  I hope you do not entertain any hope that Bioware coddles its players, or if so then I hope you are diffident to disappointment.

Is this a spoiler?  Morrigan is going to get sliced as is her child; it's only obvious to me that Bioware will not void the desire of people to see such a dramatic creature arise in the world.  There are no kindler, gentler old gods, and that's not a baby, that's not a child, that's not a human.

Keep your saved game handy.  I think OGB's going to be a mid-boss someday.

Definitively. I'm 100% behind seeing more of the OGB. In fact, this is one of the few instances I would forgive Bioware for placing story potential over player control and just make the OGB canon like they did with Leliana's survival.

Alistair/Loghain would have to be the father to accodate female wardens and even then what if  a male warden or they refused they'd have to write in that she snagged a newer warden or the backlash would be far worse then the Leliana incident.

... which wouldn't have been necessarily the case if their "2 year dlc policy" for DAO didn't stop so abruptly.

Morrigan said that the child wouldn't be tainted and as such "pure". Any kind of possession or anything else the OGB might become would just be speculation on our part. That makes it interesting!

Oh no, I happend to be disappointed once I saw the rushed DAA/WH and the product called DA2. As such my expectations regarding this (and many other things) are very low; I might even write off the DAseries and just see DAO (and its expansions/DLCs) as only "canon" product.

What? Only a mid-boss? :crying: Not some 3-stages-boss-encounter including some earthquake/eruption upon its defeat?

The only thing I want is to know why Morrigan wanted an old god soul.

Truth is even watching the words "old god baby" kind of make me wants to vomit.
I have a real repulsion towards the idea of a kid who's super "special"...
And I have some "OGB" in all my saves , even one where my p.c is the father.

I don't want that part of the story to be irrelevant , I mean it was somewhat important in DA:O and I'm curious about the whole thing .
But i'd be very disapointed if the kid have "super power" or anything silly like that.
I guess i could be fine if he's just a vessel for an energy .

We'll see ,but it's a really tricky problem and for me it can be handled in so many ridiculous ways ..

And besides some people killed their pc to avoid the dark ritual , so I hope somehow the OGB is not shown as a the "right "choice.Doesn't mean i want the OGB to be evil , but i'd like to see some bad consequences .

I'd like to see the OGB, but I'm extremely hesitant due to the fact that it's a delicate storyline that would have to be done in a meaningful way and not just a case of either fanservice or an attempt to troll those who wanted to see this storyline develop.

Wanted the baby to be the main character of a DA game but he's too young in DA:I maybe he'll appear as a companion in DA4?

You just had to remind me of that, didn't you?

I can see it now, DA3 will have war assets. Romancing Morrigan + doing the ritual = 120 EMS for your chosen faction.

I think we'll see the Old God baby, but his immune system will be compromised because of the taint so he'll have to wear some kind of environmental suit for the entire game.

Please no. DA2 did an admirable first step in getting away from all the "ancient evil" business, and I'd like to keep it headed in that direction. More importantly though - many players didn't actually do the DR (and some who did, like me, couldn't care any less what happened to the child).
So either it's going to be some form of cameo, or Bioware is going to force canon on people big time - and considering how butthurt the much smaller fraction of players that killed Leliana still is - hell, how upset people got over a mere bug that kept Zevran alive - I hope that's not going to happen.

Only if the ritual was done. I don't want BW to do something like they did with the Rachni in ME3 to the OGB

I'd like to have some clue as to what happened to the OGB, but I doubt I'll get to find out.

I have zero interest in Morrigan and her kids lol To me, her story is done.

Yeah, it was a pretty big choice in DA:O, mainly because my Warden was like, omg, girls have cooties, no waaaaaaay *sobs as she drags him to bed*

The Warden doesn't have to do the ritual...

Morrigan also said that the child's soul would be that of the Old God. The whole premise of the soul of the baby not being destroyed is that it never enters the child's body. Whereas in the case of a Warden, a Warden already has a soul, and by the Archdemon attempting to take its place, both souls are destroyed.

Since the Archdemon's personality/thoughts/mind are tied to its soul, which can transfer from darkspawn to darkspawn, what we end up with the OGB is either an Archdemon in a human body, or a human with a mind and no soul that is struggling with an Archdemon for control over the body.

But I wouldn't mind seeing Morrigan, she's a great character.

Would that then make him the "old god bubble baby," or "OGBB" for short?

I really want to know what happens with this story line. For some reason I picture your character finding him as a child sage, founding his own Buddha-esque cult following. Perhaps he has the answers to who is turning Thedas against itself?

Honestly this should have been wrapped up in the Witch Hunt DLC.

You put out paid content with the express promise of answering all questions about Morrigan. You probably should have, you know, answered all the questions about Morrigan. Instead we just got more riddles.

-1 Bioware
-1 Dragon Age franchise

An archdemon is an old god that has been corrupted by preexisting darkspawn. Morrigan explcitly says that it's the soul of the old god, not an archdemon.

Urthemiel's soul not entering the child's body would defeat the purpose behind the ritual and Morrigan's motives for partaking.

I would really prefer not seeing him/her, the kid is going to be at least six to seven years old, little kids are annoying in movies, games, and real life. Keep it out.
