I think it's inevitable that the PC will be human. I think it would be cool if they did different stories for each class. One for mage, one for warrior and one for rogue.

I know it will probably be a human PC but it's still fun to see what people will like to see

While I love the concept of Origin stories, the foundation  can easily take the PC  to pretty unsatisfying directions.
Way DA:O let you pick between Dalish Elf, Human Noble or Lowlife Dorf or etc was indeed awesome.

It is less awesome how 90% of the game is identical regardless of what you pick. Combine Origins  stories with the ability to take take main plot and half a dozen of big side chains in couple of entirely different directions and we are cooking. Different directions in literal fashion, mind ye. Not different directions in a sense that you clear the same mobs from a same dungeon and then in the end get to decide if you want to set buss full of babies in fire or not.
....Ofc, this  falls firmly in " if this were perfect world, then.." category. There's no way EA would waste valuable time, money and resources in making content you don't even get to see on one playthrough.

Voted Apostate - though as I've stated somewhere else - rather then the way DA:0 did it, I'd much prefer to have Origin Stories (even a human pc can have multiple backgrounds) the way Fallout3 did them.

Although I want a Dalish Origin most of all I would love to at least have a human with different backgrounds. That was one thing DA2 lacked

The early dialogue actually hints at different "prior lives" depending on Hawkes class.

but in the game it was still the same thing. You were a refuge escaping the blight, either apostate or survivor from Ostagar.

To be completely fair, different origins would have actually made little difference at that point. Bus as I've said a whole while ago - with the central conflict being a different one in DA3, there's a unique opportunity here to inject the player with some of the bias that their characters would have (i.e, as a mage let me grow up in a circle and experience the downsides of such imprisonment, as a mundane class, give me some scarring experience with an apostate bloodmage, or something of the like)

You make a good point. It would be cool to have the same bias that our character would normally have.

Actually - while we're at it - why not leave it up to chance? Upon selecting either mundane or mage, you'd have a 50/50 chance of either having your family murdered by a bloodmage, or meeting some goodhearted apostate (maybe healing you or a sibling) who's being chased down and killed by templars - and as a mage, you either get taken from a wealthy family and thrown into a kirk-wall style circle, or you're born as the 8th child out of thirteen in a pisspoor peasantfamily, and experience the education in a nice and cozy circle as a significant elevation of living conditions.

maybe if a mage you were in the circle during the events of Kirkwall and if a warrior/rogue you were a templar during the events of Kirkwall,

Hey OP, I don't know if you heard, but not all dwarves are criminals. Racist.

I know that. Sorry I didn't include more dwarf specific options. That's why there is an other option

I would dearly like to choose my race. I don't want to be stuck with playing a human again, I'd like to play a human because I want to, not because I have to, to play Dragon Age.

As I said in the poll, I would love the idea of an origin where you can play an Orlesian noble. To expand on that, I would like to be able to visit Val Royaux (outside of the origin), and to be able to go there and have 1 or more NPCs from the origin, to appear. Plus, some origin-specific dialogue with them. Though I'd be fine if the background was just written in the codex, or just a very small background where you won't necessarily meet anyone there, that doesn't appear later (unique to the origin).

Yeah I forgot to add an Orlesian Noble or Chevailer option in the poll.

Good thing I put an other option lol

Voted for (elf) apostate. Though being a Qunari would be cool.

human apostate. I agree with one of the other posters, about the classes having different origin stories.

Can I have a link, if you have one? This sounds interesting, haven't heard this before.

Ideally? Dalish ex-First or something along those lines. Otherwise, elf apostate is fine.

i would love to be one of the Dalish again but i get the feeling that we will only get a Human, City Elf, and Surface Dwarf at best.
