Hi, for the last 2 weeks my war assets screen shows "Load Failed, unable to connect to server".
Another issue (dont' know if it is connected or not), is to do with commendation packs. I opened my pack from Operation Vigilance, and got a Valiant I. It disappeared from my manifest a few days later. I emailed EA support and they said they would credit a new pack to my account.
I check everyday but no pack appears in the store. Weird. I contact EA on live chat, and the support guy says he credited a pack to my acccount too. Again 24 hrs later, still no pack.

I just had similar happen today, after the Origin update. The war assets area on ME3's home screen states "Load Failed. Cannot connect to server".
Beneath the menu I am "connected to EA servers". I am also able to create and host my own multiplayer game, however cannot join others or have others join me.
Have not been able to test a private game with an origin friend.
