I don't want to have to buy a PS4 or Wii U and then have no save import option.

If it's on next gen I'm really curious how they are going to transfer saves.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the new consoles have some way to import saves, DLC, downloaded games etc. from people's old consoles. If there is any backwards compatibility it would be a pretty big dick move for people to lose their DLC or downloaded games.

How is Wii U next gen?

Asides from that, I'm sure it will be current gen. The game has been developed for a while now. For it to be on next gen, they need to update their current data, recoding, and learning how the next gen system works. Not a lot of people would have next gen system when it first releases. I don't think they would take that risk to release the game on a PS4 or Xbox720 or something, not when a lot of people expect the game to live up to Bioware's reputation after the disappointment some had with Dragon Age 2.

I remember reading somewhere that they said that there will be a save file transfer so I'm guessing this gen

the gen of the console will determine whether I buy it or not. So it better be for the current gen and the pre-order bonus better be good or no deal (Will still buy if no good pre-order bonus, just won't pre-order)
