Bodahn (in Act 3): "My boy's been offered a position in Orlais."

I can't be the only one who noticed this, right?

I hope so. Those characters never get old.

Yes , they were heading to Orlais by the end of DA2.

Anyway , It's not a real DA game without Bodahn and Sandal ( and Flemeth making a cryptic cameo).

I'm pretty sure we will see them again. :)

And this makes me even more curious.

I'd hope not, Sandal was cute in the first one but tired me out the second time. A third appearance would feel like they're being dragged across the floor brutally.

Technically, they'd be the focus of the Dragon Age universe--the two merchants which save the world by supplying heroes.

I've shared my thoughts on the prophecy here.

Bodhan will probably be dead by DA3 and Sandal will have regained the ability of proper speech.

I also expect there's some weird connection between Flemeth and Sandal.

Could that be a hint to the storyline of the next game?

I've shared my thoughts on the prophecy here.

“Once, dragons and men coexisted. They shared a peace forged in wisdom, a peace that lasted many generations. All that was lost when mankind disrupted this balance in a sudden onslaught. Man fought dragon is a savage war that shook the foundations of their world. This war was called The Scouring. Defeated and humbled, dragons vanished from the realm. In time, man rebuilt and spread his dominion across the land and on the islands beyond. A millennium has passed since those dark days ended.”
Reading your prophecy reminded me of Fire Emblem so I thought I'd post this.

Yes, they have become a staple for the Dragon Age series. It just wouldn't be the same without "ENCHANTMENT!!!!".

As long as Sandal kicks the crap out of loads of monsters and enchants my stuff I'm game.

I'm curious to find out why Empress Celene extended the invitation for Sandal to come to Orlais. Yes, she is a scholar, and yes, he is a powerful young dwarf who would be wonderful to study and assess, but is there something more to that, some ulterior motives perhaps? Does she seek to use him for experiments or somehow harness his abilities to vanquish her enemies? Maybe she sees him as key to the darkspawn mystery, or is going to use him to somehow dissolve the Veil. Lots of potential there.

Just please, PLEASE stop treating Sandal like he's the butt of all jokes because the boy has mental issues. No cleaning out the toilets. No funny buttscratching. No "you go sleep with Sandal, dog". This is really sad and upsetting and not funny at all.

Bodahn: Empress Celene is very interested in my boy.

*imagines sandal with a puffy shirt in a palace*

.....^_^

royal enchanter: Master sandal, what is the next step?

Sandal: Booom

Bodahn: Yes, he needs more newts.

Sandal: i like the mousies.

Bodahn: Ah and if you would be so kind to fetch my boy here some orlesian mice, the ones that squeak with a funny accent.

I hope so. Somehow ending up indebted to every big hero during the dragon age.

I don't mind them turning up in some capacity, but I don't particularly want them to be hanging around the PC for the whole time like in previous games.

No, you are not the only one. Half the old DA3 threads on the DA2 forum mention it.

I like Bodahn, but Sandal creeps the Hell out of me. The game wouldn't be the same without them though. I wish to see Wade and Herren back as well, but I guess it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sandal's prophecy only triggers if you have a save where the Dark Ritual happened? I'm really not sure though.

I'd love to see them both again, together with Herren and Wade.

Apparantly it has a tiny (like 1% chance tiny) of triggering any time you click on Sandal to talk with him.

Here's a list of totally unofficial confirmations for DA3:

1) Sharp weapons.
2) Magic.
3) Inquisition.
4) Dragon Age.
5) Sandal.
