This will be completely pointless when you have attack speed boosting skills such as the Berserker specialization for Warriors, and Haste from Mages, two iconic skills which I'm almost certain will return in DA3.

The 'best balance' you will get is a weapon that looks too fast with Haste/Berserker skills and too slow otherwise. If that's the case I'd rather have one that's always too fast/too slow - at least it provides credibility in the form of consistency.

In
fact for zweihander to qualify as double pay. he need to be a "master of long sword" title granted exclusively by the Marxbruder after 1487 . (and later about 1550, by the federfechter from Prague)

LOL, didn't know the Marx Brothers were masters of the long sword:

yes I know , to be fair their proper name is a two liner so they must have had a sense of humor
Did you know that one member of the brotherhood wrote something about history reapating itself and capitalism?

they had to go for Marc because George was already taken (it is linked to the lichtanaur tradition and Paulus Kalh and Hans Tallhoffer, liked with the brotherhood of Marc, had a massive hair pulling comtest aroun 1440)

I always find coincidences like that in history to be amusing.  Anyways, thanks for all the info on the Landsknecht, it was very interesting.

Not necessary. Tehy can change one to be a heavy hitter, instead of fast gitter. So we'll stil have advantage but this time Two-handed weapons will fit their role. Let berserker\\reaver skills stun, cripple, maim their enemies. More powerful hits is a good tradeoff for more frequent hits.

I fully support! A warrior with a two-handed weapon can not jumping as a squirrel.

Skyrim example of Greatsword is nice as well to feel the power of massive weapon in your hands.
