i  just bought the  game   nothing was mention online   on how to acess  advance  skills   like shapeshifter  in dragon age  whats the requirements for  shapeshifter?

Hit lvl 7 I believe.

Hit level seven and buddy up with Morrigan is the easiest way.. although u may also be able to purchase a manual for it like some other specialisations

Alistair and Lelianna both gave up their specializations when I got friendly with them.

Oghren gave up beserker while I was neutral with him!



But my relationship is over 90 with Morrigan and she still gives me "I could if I had the desire, but I do not" BS line...



is there some trick to this?

on this playtrough Morrigan wont teach me even if im at 100% i dont know why , but on my mage she did it when i was way lower , not sure if it s because of some conversations i ve had with her

I think it's probably just Morrigan only teaches shapeshifter if you can benefit from it (i.e. you are a mage). She doesn't really care about the other party members enough to teach them, regardless of her relationship with you.

I am a playing a mage so I guess it is not a class thing? Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I think she's just not big on giving it unless YOU are a mage....

on the xbox version i got it even if i had a warrior but on my PC version only my mage so far unlocked it

Are you saying that you have a specialization point but can't spend it on Shapeshifting, or that she's just telling you no? Because she tought me but still give the 'if I had the desire.. but I do not.'

I heard Morrigan is bugged and only teaches it if she's below 40, but I'm not sure because I haven't tried it myself.

I am a mage but she won't teach me. Is it because she has 100% Love ? I heard that it is bugged.

Get to level 7 pick shapeshifter.

USe talent points to gain the spells

go to sustained spells to use the spell

it can be bought from a store or learned from morrigan if she does not like you very much.

i had same issue, 100% and she refused to teach... wondered if i had to "force" her, but in the end shapeshift is quite crappy so i didnt even tried... had not even purchased the book (that is in the elven camp)

Morrigan IS bugged and will only teach shapeshifter talent, if you ask her to teach it as the very first thing you ask, you mustn't build any relationship with her if you want to learn it from her... Not that it's really very useful.

She can hate you and she will teach it.

If she likes you its a no.

Good thing shes easy to disapprove.

One of my playthroughs i may need to be mean.

Otherwise its too easy for me to get her

Maybe she only teaches it to people she dislikes since it's such a bad specialization?

It's not a bug, the assumption is that she starts being "confused" about how she feels towards the PC and is less likely to do things voluntarily for you. For anything.

If you really want it, you can buy the manual off varathorn.
