I'm a 190 pound male underwear model and I can't imagine myself in massive armor.

@OP: This is the most hilariously bewildering post I have seen in my entire life, and I'm amazed that you actually made it seem like you were trying to communicate something, but it feels like someone just snipped the base of my brain stem. Congrathelations.

Well, I think that mobility is better than massive armour in modern combat - unless you are literally a tank - but even then you need mobility. So people in ME were fine. I am not those Warhammer 2100 or whatever dudes. Maybe peeps in ME used far more advanced kevlar armours than exist in our world, not to speak of psionics they had. Besides if you have cleavage and ass, why would you hide them? I don't see women doing that except in certain countries in middle east etc.

I suspect you're trolling me.
Anyway, Jack was fighting without clothes in her upper body. The advanced kevlar armour in integrated in her skin?
And those characters (Miranda, Thane, Jacob, Jack) doesn't need a massive armour. They could've had a light armour. There's no need to fight in civilian clothes (or without clothes).

Aveline, well, I know she have tons of fans but that doesn't mean I would have to agree with the hivemind about her. I got very much enough of her when she got a job as a guard and begun to talk that holier-than-thou stuff. On the other hand I recall her having more sane armour and sword & shield, so she was not totally disturbing - yet I am happy I never finished the game so I did not have to experience how low fan service can go. I am sure she became only worse.

Branka, she was about fine in general. Nuts and lacking something but pretty fine otherwise.

Meredith I don't remember, except that I have heard that name.

Seriously? Aveline, fanservice?
Meredith is, you know, the Knight-Commander of the Templar Order in Kirkwall. You know, the blond warrior in massive armour you see at the start of Act 1.
Anyway, my point was that those NPC have massive armours becauase Bioware though they should've massive armours. If there'll be a NPC that they think is fit to have massive armour, they'll give to her.

I misread she at first to say she is 125 KG, and for a while I thought this certainly is intriguing why she can't imagine wearing a heavy armour because at first thought I felt it would suit her :D

I am 125 pounds and cannot imagine myself in massive armor. I have tried to play warriors but can’t get past the first couple of quests. So, where I can, I play a rogue or sorceress. But I have a friend who is 6’ and have no problem imagining her in massive armor. If women in massive armor is kept in proportion to some population math, it would be fine. I just don’t want to see all of them in massive armor or in light armor or in dresses. We are a pretty diverse group.

It would also be nice to see a couple of different body types rather than having us all look the same. I suppose that is true for men as well.

I am all your dreams come true. Maybe we can meet ;)

Of course that was a joke, I can't help it, I can be flirty at times. Sorry.

I think it's safe to say that there's going to be  a higher proportion of fighting women in the halls the PC is likely to walk in DA3.

I am so looking forward to it. Now if they will give us a skills matrix similar to what they have done with Kingdom of Amalur I will be very happy.

Let's all google Jehanne de Montfort, who very much wore armour and fought in wars.

Next, zweihanders, the heaviest practical zweihander was around 3.2 kg which is 7 pounds. Most were around 2 kg, which is 4.4 pounds.

Woman can swing 5 pound swords. Women do swing 5 pound swords. Even 120 lb. women can use 5 lb. swords. This is something I know for a fact.

Before you decide that something is wrong, consult at least one expert. Wikipedia will do in a pinch, but there is an entire group of people who are expert in the realities of medieval life. They are known as the Society for Creative Anachronism.

They love to discuss every aspect of medieval life. Please, everyone, feel free to talk with them.

Considering that your average modern western woman rarely lifts anything heavier than a book or walks more than a block, and the media routinely idolizes anorexic things who look like they'd be blown over by a strong wind, it's no wonder people get funny ideas about what women are actually capable of.

I am quite sure we lift a lot more than the weight of a book and do it for sustained periods of time. Women have far more stamina than men. Ask any father that has tried to carry their child trough a zoo, compared to a mother that not only carried her child but the dipper bag and a purse as well.

I'd also like to see a man experience the pain of giving birth.  That would be lulzy.

Yeah, I don't want to see women in massive armours, unless they are freaks in a cave I mentioned. I also don't want to see males running oversized JRPG sword in their back.

Just no. Females should not wear massive armours, and pray god the only woman in Orlais doing that hopefully stays away of my eyes and does not get glued to my team.

Is this too much to ask for?

So get rid of two-handed combat and don't allow female characters to be warriors?

 Most entertaining thread this morning.

May I propose a compromise between the "cleavage is believable" and "armor is believable" camps? Just make every woman in DA3 Aribeth - that'll look realistic to everyone!

HAHAHAHHA, this is all too hilarious. First time in my home when I had to do my best to not laugh out loud and aweken those who sleep. Else:

- (grumpy) what was so funny
- I saw a picture of one video game chich photoshopped to have a moustache

Yeah, she does not know me too well
