My memory is a bit hazy but in Awakening wasn't there the countess (or some title) that preserved her life for eons by sacrificing innocents and being possessed by a demon or something like that? It felt vampirish in terms of atmosphere.

Personally, I hope they never do.  Vampires and zombies and werewolves are all VERY overdone and there's nothing original about them now.  IF Bioware were to implement them, I'd hope that they made a point of making them different, tying them in somehow to the existing lore, rather than just introducing Ye Olde Standard Vampire Tropes.  But really I just don't want them at all.

I always thought that the "Friends that like quiet places to play" could have been vampires.
You only saw the contact at night.
Fewer robbers and gangs would mean more normal people running around at night. For food.

Vampires are my favorite movie monster, and I simply love Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

How to fit this into the game....a spirit possessing a blood mage? no, that is the usual abomination. A very rare moment where a spirit possesses a blood mage in the process of dying? And like Witherfang, can make more vampires that way?

A lore friendly vampire would be an evil, blood consuming version of Wynne or a slightly different version of Zathrian's curse.
