Spears, whips, halbeards, two bladed swords, double axes, one handed axes, one handed hammers, morning stars, maces, flails and crossbows. Dragon Age 3 needs them or at least a few. Long reach weapons such as spears and halbeards could fall into their own skilltree thus providing more character builds for warriors. Crossbows would be an alternative of the longbow which is slower but more powerful meanwhile one handed hammers would provide blunt damage rather than slashing damage. Neverwinter Nights had all these weapons and they allowed for a bigger array of character builds and were all handled well and balanced.

I mean who wouldn't want to use a two bladed sword again?

I just really hope we don't see so many "Fire Staff of +2 Frost Damage," etc.

There were a lot of weird weapons like that in DA2, and it was something I had hoped would get fixed in a patch.

There weren't any weapons like that in DA2 (did you mean weapons with names like that?). There weren't weapons like that in either game, IIRC.

No. It's a different type of mace.

See the distinction between the two?

I must admit, I'd like to see more variation on the... Style in which weapons can be used. I used to love playing Single Sword Style.

If Bioware aren't capable of adding additional weapons, at the very least I'd like to see additional styles. I never say no to combat variations so - Full Support for Halberds, Pole-arms, Spears, Rapiers etcetc.

On an unrelated note - What happened to all the one handed maces in Dragon Age? I don't remember seeing any in DA2.

Note that the morning star is a spiked mace.

Though it's been so commonly confused with flail that I generally know what people mean when they say it.

They were there.

I would not mind a longsword/flail combo, if only so I could go all Witch King from Return of the King.

I was led to believe the "morning stars" in NWN were misnamed and would more appropriately be called flails, whereas a traditional mace with spikes on it is what a morningstar is actually supposed to be.

*bonus points for not reading Allan Schumacher's post even though that's why I clicked the thread to begin with*

That is a flail, as shown by the chain connecting the head of the weapon to the handle (hilt?).

A morning star can technically be either a flail or a mace, but in regards to my earlier post, I am correct.

*And I did this without looking at Allan's post.

It was always fun seeing them treated exactly as a longsword, with the characters running around trying to stab things with them.

Hopefully this is one of the things slated for improvement.

Though the first priority should be to make it so that Shale can crush the heads of normal-sized humanoid models between her fists. *squish*

I'm not all that bothered about more types of weapon unless they're really different, perhaps with their own associated talent tree.

Actually, they aren't different types of maces. A mace is a mace is a mace, but a flail is not a mace.

Not @ OP,

Please at least get a little knowledge about the weapons in D&D games (like BG2 and NWN)

A flail is a mace except for the flails that are flails. On top of that maces are only maces if they are a mace. Flails which are maces is still flails that are maces and similarly are maces that are maces, flails if they are maces.

I'd like a waffle iron or cast iron cookware. So I have the option to smash baddies or bribe then with tasty treats. Options it all about the options!

Worst boss fight ever. Swing then smash. Swing then smash. Such horrible encounter design... or something. Great death.

I'd be happy with sheaths for normal sized weapons, non floating weapons and bowstrings.
