One thing that was annoying about Dragon Age was that you couldn't step outside your weapon's function. What I want is the ability to be able to melee with our bows and crossbows, and throw melee weapons. Of course they wouldn't be as effective, but if someone gets to close for my tastes for my bow, I want to smash his face so I can switch to a better weapon; or if I have a useless dagger in my inventory, I want to be able to throw it at the guy shooting at me before I maul him.

Archers need a proper melee attack for when the enemy gets too close. In DA2 didn't they literally do round-house ninja kicks? I swear I remember seeing an archer round-house kick an enemy into little gory bits once in a video of DA2....

In DA:0 you had two weapons talent branch, so you could be melee and ranged.
i really wishes something like that comes back in DA:3
