And Crushing Prison doesn't actually 'crush', it more like dangles/paralyzes foes while at the same time applying tons of (seemingly internal) magical force. All that pressure building up and building up inside them, especially considering the possibility it's a CCC, will maybe lead to...there you go, you almost got it. Keep at it sport, it'll come to you eventually, I'm sure of it.

Explosions is fine, especially when Blood magic or Entropy, or other magic makes body explode. But not Dragon Age 2 style - when people explode left and right after paper cut.
Bcause its okay to hold them to a game they did not fix... oh wait they changed that.
No it was patched and BioWare (as so many around here demanded they do) admitted to the problem and fixed it.
Over ten years latter I can still make baddies explode in Baldur's Gate. You know the game Dragon Age is the "Spirtual Succesor" to.
Hey while we are at it lets cry about Leliana and how Imoen was never retconned as coming back to life regardless of how horribly she can die in the first game...

They patched it out mostly. There was a math error on launch that made it happen far, far more than intended.
But at least the blood splatter on the player was toned down substantially from DAO. I still remember coming out of the pantry after killing rats with my dog looking like Carrie at the prom.
Yes. The overabundance of blood splatter wasn't necessary in Origins. I always turn the splatter off thru the game and save it for the final battle at Denerim where it looks like it belongs.

How much more efficiant can you kill someone than by cutting off their head?
Just cutting their throat or running them through or something would be easier.
Why? Are you talking about targeting, or weapon power? I saw a program about The Real Braveheart. The host used a great sword and with one swing, cut a hanging side of beef in half.

Are they also gonna stop making the enemy corpses dissapearing so fast? It was annoying when I used Grave Robber/Death Syphon only for most of the bodies to get eaten by the ground.

XD
Consider that he's most of Hawke's enemies and there's some type of Demon's Souls/Dark Souls stuff going on here, save that this guy keeps dying over and over again. The best one is when you're fighting someone with a helmet/mask on then they explode and you just see a bald head go flying out of the explosion!

Bodies also explode in Neverwinter Nights but only due to critical hits and it's the same with Baldur's Gate. Thus exploding bodies was rarer than what you get in Dragon Age 2 and I don't buy the rubbish that it "was a math's error" because how could something that obvious be missed during play testing? Enemies were literally exploding left and right at the beginning and all previews mentioned the feature.
I don't think DA2 is really a spritual successor to Baldur's Gate. Origins was. DA2 really has zero in common with Baldur's Gate aside from being party-based.

Alright, jokes aside...
Isn't this possible in real life???
Like... The man went bald and lost all his facial hair... From the mightiness of the final STRIKE???

I also used to pause the exploding enemies, looking at it from different angles trying to make out the pieces. And than I would laugh at the absurdity of someone getting hit by an arrow and explode...

Yeah but atleast in the "infinity" games (BG and IWD series) when they explode they make that cool sound and the screen shakes (could've been a problem with my old screen) and makes you feel awesome and badass. Nowadays it's just tacky.

They didn't really test the game. That's also why they didn't include the promised "auto attack" and the combat was unbalanced.

Unless I'm engulfing heads with a fireball (and maybe Crushing Prison) I hope exploding enemies are never seen again in Dragon Age.
Even for crushing prison it seems a little bit excessive. I mean if they'll be running of frost bite 2 engine I'd much rather see some good old fashioned armor crumpling and maybe a fine pink mist.

Even though they patched it so that it happens less frequently... It still happens WAY too much with an archer Hawke or Varric in the party (I assume Sebastian too, though I hardly ever used him)...
Why must people explode? That's not cool. It stopped being cool when I got to High School.
Wait--Aren't they making a Saw VI or something? My argument is invalid if they are........

OMG! Your post made me realize something.... EVERYONE IN KIRKWALL IS AFLICTED WITH VIRULENT WALKING BOMB!Darth Wolfenbarg wrote...
If we're going for realism, then removing corpse explosions from melee combat is a must. It was fine for the framed narrative, along with all of its other odd stylistic choices, but it should go in the third one. That of course excludes the walking bomb spell. Corpse explosion is a *must* for that.
Everything makes sense now!!
