I'd be annoyed if they opened Leliana as a love interest even if she was still with the Warden. Although, I wouldn't be shocked if they did it. As long as she doesn't force herself onto you or forget the romance like the Zevran bug it.
It's just that i'd heavily prefer the option doesn't show up at all.

What about for a hardened Leliana? Basically, why not?

I was a bit confused by this at the time. However, I thought about it, and then I came to a conclusion. Basically, it's like this.
Isabela views sex like she views other pleasurable pasttimes like snacking. I would not normally be worried about hurting my girlfriend's feelings if I had an ice cream cone or a rice krispy treat on my own, even if the snacks she makes are terrific. I'd understand that she could be upset that I ruined my appetite when she prepared a meal for me, but the act of snacking alone because I was hungry shouldn't upset her normally. If she's wants me to eat her snacks and only her snacks... well, I don't mind, because I care about her. But I wouldn't think of it as a betrayal otherwise.
This is how I think she views things. When she expressed interest in having sex with Zevran while in a relationship with Hawke, she has an almost indignant response if Hawke asks "What about me?". She says "What? You can come too" as if it was totally obvious. When I tell my girlfriend I'm going to get ice cream, she doesn't say "What about me?", because she assumes she is welcome to come along. Same with Isabela.
This is a really awesome coincidence but I've read Snacking
OT: hmm I got to say that most of the Companions got there story wrapped up pretty well in DA and DA2. but I wouldn't mind seeing some of them return but not as Romance options.

I actually agree. If the character is due to return, as a requirement to the plot, and their character is impulsive, fickle, or simply strikes better chemistry with a new protagonist, then I don't see why they wouldn't also be a romance option.I must be the only player alive who would be totally down with romancing a returning companion with a new protagonist
In terms of characters I don't want to see - Anyone that has closure, or effectively ended their plot lines. (Looking at you, dead people)

Moar Cullen! Only I want him in my squad and a romance option.
I dismiss your demands and replace my own. Good day.

Also - No Isabela (cept as maybe a quest giver in a port town, a mostly cameo appearance, maybe with the option to sex her up)
No Fenris - He made a home in Kirkwall, it took him 6 years to do it and he shouldn't leave so easily.
No Merril - Again, home in Kirkwall. I suppose if we see Hawke and Hawke romanced Merril then she should appear (briefly) too.
No Aveline, or Carver or Bethany - they all made a home in Kirkwall too, especially Aveline, but Carver is with the Templars there and he should stay there, while Bethany could be a mage not every mage goes to Andorhals Reach so she should stay in Kirkwall too. (she was always a good circle mage, never got into trouble so she should be fine there)
From DAO
ABSOLUTELY NO OGHREN - I was pissed in DAA when he popped up. I mean really? Out of all the characters WHY HIM?

Because he couldn't be killed in Origins, Bioware weren't retconning deaths back then, and none of the other characters would make sense as Grey Wardens.

But they could have had Sten, and that would even make complete sense. His duty was to learn about the Blight (and by extension the Grey Wardens) by becoming a Grey Warden he learns the most he possibly could, thus providing the best answer to the Arishok's question when he returns to Par Vollen.

Actually, I believe a hardened Leliana would be less likely to cheat on the Warden since I've always pictured that as just getting her loyalty. She seemed more attached to the Warden after hardening her, imo.

I want this piece of trash to stay dead. All he did was whine about EVERYTHING the entire game.

As long as it's a good romance - especially if it acknowledges the presence of a previous one with an offscreen character like the Warden - that fact would not make me hesitate in the slightest.
If Leliana falls in love with say "the Inquisitor" (or whomever) and this causes her to leave the (off screen) Warden, I'm sure the Warden would be heartbroken, but it would be her decision and she is her own character with her own life. Again, as long as it's well done, I've got no issues at all with that happening.
Ooh, what if you could romance her in DA3 but only if your warden died. Then it would be like the dead lover trope but YOU'RE the dead lover!
Oooh. Ooooooooh.

I might be one of the only male DA fans to say this but I like Cullen. His character EVOLVES as the games progress. It makes him one of the few secondary characters that isnt truely static.
He starts out a generic young Templar, then becomes paranoid about mages after Ferelden, then actually grows LESS paranoid when presented with the extreme Meredith.
Seeing how he has adapted to Kirkwall and becoming a Knight-Commander (probably) and how he deals with Lord Seeker Lambert would be interesting.

He serves the Qunari people though, not the Grey Wardens. Plus, he works for the army so he would have to choose between staying a Grey Wardens or eventually going back and we all know what Sten would choose.

Exactly, as a Qunari he could become a Grey Warden, then leave and return to Par Vollen. Nothing says he can't leave the Wardens. Both Anders and Fiona (The Calling and Asunder) left the Wardens.

No, Sten is a Qunari. He would not give up his place within the Qun. He already has all the answers he needs for the Arishok. But they could have had Sten
He wouldn't risk the chance that anyone could stop him, not when he doesn't have to. As I said, he has all the answers he needs. He would never risk his position in the Qun - More importantly he would never be anything besides a Sten, it's a matter of honour.he could become a Grey Warden, then leave
