I'd take cutomization over another Hawke/Shepard.
I want to play a BioWare game where I play as MY character, not BioWares.

I want someone like the Warden. Or even someone like Shepard in ME1.
From what I heard, Shepard from Mass Effect 1 is exactly what you'll be getting. Not completely but fairly customizable human. You are, after all, a servant of the Chantry [get over it] and whether you're a devout Maker-lover or a really cynical not particularly religious jerk will be up to you.
How do you know you serve the Chantry? All we know (educated guess) is that you are an/the Inquisitor. Just becuase in the real world Inquisitors were servants of the Catholic Church doesn't mean DA Inquisitors serve the Chantry.
Actually, in this game, the original inquisition is the group that the seekers of truth and the Templar order originated, when they combined with the Chantry.
Not sure about the new one though.

I'll take customization. What I need to know about my character is already in my own imagination.
I feel like customization leads to a more satisfying character development. I think this was evident in Origins, which felt like I was growing this character throughout, as opposed toDA2, in which I was playing as a Hawke. Removing me from my ties early in origins really helped.i didn't have a family reminding me who the story wanted me to be.

I don't care about race as much as the ability to pick a class and male/female protagonist. All other is gravy for me. While i would have enjoyed playing an elf in DA2, having a human only protagonist wasn't a deal breaker for me. Had it been a dwarf I may have been unhappy as I've never been able to bring myself to like them let alone play one beyond the origin achievement. I've only liked a handful of dwarves in the game anyway, so I can see if its another human only, where people would be upset.
I found playing Hawke, even with a set background and set relationships (family) it was still a unique 'my own' character as the course of the story played out. Largely due to the ability to choose and shape Hawke's overall personality as the game progressed.
