Never lost a match yet on gold (teammates are competent) except the one I did last night. We ALMOST lost. And it wasn't because of the random we had either cuz he tied the top score with me. Someone I invited from the chat had absolutely no clue on how to play gold and kept suggesting we play FBWGG. We ended up in London against Reapers and it almost turned into a slaughterhouse. And that particular person would always get downed by a banshee. (And got lowest score like 20k ....with an N7 rank of 2,000+? How do you not know how to play gold?)

Just saying that not everyone in the chat is typically gold worthy.

But other than that, I'm having a BLAST with the other players in the chat particulary OniTYME, WNG something, Wafflemeister(?), and several others whose names I can't spell. Oh, and honorable mention to Man of Beer.

i know there are several here are either from Australia or NZ. But you probably would suffer from lag. Tons of gold regular here. Most of them would help you improve, as long as you stick to the group.

Speaking from experience (NZ also) lag's not too bad. It's there, but it's no worse than playing with randoms.

On QFI, I'd recommend speccing sabotage for backfire damage and tech vulnerability. It doesn't show up on the scoreboard, but it does do heaps of damage. Played with an asari adept once, and they were getting stasis kills all over the place thanks to me  . I also go support cloak (4 ranks, duration), full damage stickies (benefit from sabotage's tech vulnerability, at least I think they do, and set off tech bursts), full fitness, and whatever's left in power damage on the passive. Harrier's my weapon of choice. All that's mainly preference though, the important thing's sabotage, which can be an underappreciated power against organics.

Thanks for the advice.  I have the odd lag issue but it not too bad as you say.  I have been playing the QFI as a support sniper with the duration cloak and a Valiant, and a mix of stickies/sabotage.  She does ok on silver but not great, I tend to stay back and snipe and revive as required.

I see the upcoming patch improves headshots against bosses and improves shadow strike, the latter should improve my N7 Shadow character, although I don't tend to fire a shot with her which is a problem on drone escorts as the drone won't move when I'm cloaked.  I haven't quite got the right combination of low weight weapons and mods.

I never invited anyone else except for Illius who was my very first PSN friend that taught me how to play gold normally. I just assume that everyone else if a great player....along with their very large N7 ranks.....which probably don't mean much in the whole grand scheme of things.


EDIT: On a side note, with this upcoming patch, human adepts (a group of them) can basically blockade a whole path and do serious AoE damage if specced right. That, and the fact there will be boss headshots and an Atlas weak spot on the back. Finally, a good reason to drop my demolisher and go back to my QMI!

Oh so thats why there are so many people joining who i don't know. Well the people here on BSN generally won't say they'd like to play gold if they'r only comfortable with silver. Anyways you can do that and if some of them turn out to be bad players, like the guy pete is mentioning we tell him to gtfo plus tell everyone else thier PSN.

If anyone ever has some issue in the chat, post it here and so i can do something about it.

Well I haven't ran into any bad ones yet, but if they're there to look for farming matches, they should just go search for a WGG lobby instead. Everyone in the chat room is trying to get an Unknown/Unknown game going.

I honestly don't recall the EXACT name since it was a bunch of alternating capital letters and lower case letters and some numbers but I believe it was like crazygamer or something but spelled weird. I can identify him once I get back on Friday. But we really need to do something about these random bunch of people joining into the chat that want to play FBWGG. I don't mind first time gold players as long as they know how to revive and help with objectives. But there sure is a lot more people in there then before.

Yeah there are a lot of people in there now but more people in the chat if managed properly won't cause a problem, and yeah the silver players iv'e played with who are trying to get into gold aren't bad, they might not do most of the damage but they know how to play properly.

As far people who want to do farming runs are concerned, i hvn't seen any in the chat myself (he could have been a friend of someone who applied here or gamefaqs)), if anyone see's them post thier ID's here.

Who's ready for this weekend's operation? Getting a gold run within less than 20 minutes sounds entertaining! My last gold match was at 20:50 against Geth on Goddess which was pretty tough when pyros and hunters snuck up on us.<_<

Just a quick note, Xain's gold lobby chat is ONLY for competent and decent U/U/G players. People who farm, are transitioning from silver to gold matches, or learning how to play gold matches, will be put into a different chat room for obvious reasons. Don't want to offend anyone but the whole reason Xain made this was for players to play decent, normal games of gold when we can't find anything other than WGG or Glacier etc. I'll be playing plenty this weekend to save creds for the upcoming DLC.

Agreed. Just to add, if you're packing a sub optimal loadout, then please please load up on some consumables. This would make things much easier for both you and anyone else in the team. Going into a u/u/g with a GI equipped with only a gear makes you look really questionable.

Haven't seen you in the chat before. We should definitely play together for this speed run operation. A gold match can never go wrong with my demolisher or QMI......especially with those boss headshots returning combined with tac-scan.
