I'm going to be going through the trilogy again soon, and I'm wondering- is it worth doing two playthroughs in Mass Effect 1? How much does the game change the second time around with me being a higher level, playing on a higher difficulty, etc?
Worth two playthroughs?

I've played the first game seven times so far, but I'm a completionist so I feel the need to explore every planet, do every quest, try every available option for conversations, every love interest, etc. The only difference a higher-level replay makes is that your improved gear and abilities makes the game significantly easier (and therefore faster), and you get higher bonus xp and money when you import to ME2. yeah im pretty much the same, ive got problems with aspects of each game but overall i love them an continually play them.
Got new character im going slowly with in ME1 i will take through the trilogy while ive completed 3 about 15 times now and still got tons of characters to take through, for me anyhow the universe never gets old, some missions do but thats about it

Two playthroughs? Even if you just did one in each class there's half a dozen. Think I'm on 8 or 9 and considering another now all the new PS3 ME1 talk round here has renewed my enthusiasm.

Unlocking Hardcore/Insanity modes.
Ensuring I get to lvl 60 and thus start at the highest level possible in ME2.
Having a Paragon and a Renegade character to play through entire trilogy.

Does anyone know if we get to keep our equipment (armor, amps, weapons) after starting a new file? I like my spectre requisition gear..

You mean a new game? Yes. You mean a new character? No.
Actually, importing a high level char is the best way to beat insanity.
Otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.
