Yeah it may sound like a silly idea at first but all Mass Effect games have it and what better way to add humerous scenarios than to let the protagonist get drunk and end up naked in a ditch in the middle of no-where? Further more it can help add to companion interaction if you can have drinks with them and see who can drink who under the table. I mean The Inquistor's line of work is surely tough and what better way to kick back than to have a nice cold glass of ale?

Dragon Age 2 gave Hawke the ability to drink but since it's established beyond all doubt that Hawke is a universal badass, he/she couldn't get drunk or maybe the bartender was just giving Hawke water or something (because it's never clearly established what drink Hawke is ordering).

The only impact drinking had in DA2 was that people would cheer "Hawke!" when entering The Hanged Man in Act 3 if you drunk numerous times back in Act 1 and 2 but was that really worth all the trouble? No. So now Dragon Age 3 should give the ability to let your character get drunk. Even if it's a one off in each bar you travel to leading to a fun and humerous side quest (or even one where you get into trouble), it should be fun.

Alternatively having an option to actually control your drunk character and stumble about (like in Red Dead Redemption and GTA) would be a fun side feature too. Asides from that, wouldn't such an option add to role-play? Even some characters could note about the time you spend in taverns getting drunk which would kinda establish the fact that your character is considered a drunk.

"No. I already know enough drunks in real life."

No one would be forcing this feature onto you if it's included. I know enough mage-supportists in real life and my college recently had a rally for them but yet I don't go around asking for a pro-mage stance not to be included in DA3 because I'm pro-templar. So even if you're an anti-drunk, what would be wrong with including the option for those who want it?

ROFLMAO So the Hanged Man was Cheers and Hawke became Norm?  Posted ImageCute.  My head canon for my snarky rogue, Kit was that she was so mad Isabela ran out with the book, she only dealt with the Qunari because she couldn't talk Varric into leaving his window open so she could sneak into the Hanged Man to get drunk while the city burned!Posted Image

On a more serious note, it may have been amusing to see snarky or straight laced Hawke drunk, but aggressive Hawke can only end in tears...nothing scarier than an angry drunk with knives/swords or the ability to set people on fire with their mind.Posted Image

I'd like a little reaction to drinking but not getting real drunk.

Oh yeah, that's right, personalities! Each personality could end up doing/saying different things when they're drunk. Like as an aggressive character, you simply end up getting more angrier and then end up crying as one of your companions picks you up to take you home. Cue funny one sentences "We're still friends though right? Because if you say no, I'll kill you!"

"Sure you will Inquisitor. Sure you will..."

But I already have a hard enough time using my xbox controller when I'm drinking!

Seriously, though, this is a great idea.  Make it happen, devs.

That would be fun, yes. I thought it added a nice roleplaying element to my renegade Shepard in ME2 and 3. Because of the renegade choices his pretty face was falling apart, and his love Ashley reacted very poorly to his resurrection, so... he got drunk everytime he went to the Citadel.

I'm all for it if getting drunk means that the PC gets insanely cuddly. That was always the fun part about getting drunk for me. Cuddling every damn person in sight, even if you've never seen that person before...

Give me that option Bioware. And give me permission to choose who my PC gets all cuddly with.
"Hey, Cassandra!"
"Inquisitor."
"..."
"..."
"Get your hands off me right now or I will end you."
"Awww D:"

I'm always drunk in real life, so when the game character is drunk, it's like playing the game normally.

I support an option to get drunk and try to fondle Cassandra.

Would've loved a drunk Hawke too, with the type of drunk influenced by personality (maybe diplomatic = kissy drunk, snarky = outrageous behavior drunk, angry = angry drunk)

I support the option to get drunk!
And when you have too much, your character passes out then wakes up in some other random part of the area(village, city, whatever).

I fully support drunk protagonist. I would love if the companions start to have conversations based about how much of a drunk (or **** chaser in the inevitable brothel) my character is. Bonus points if the sarcastic personality allows you to chime in shamelessly.

I would like to vomit when drunk ala Fable I swear I would buy as many ales as possible just to make my pc puke it was fun. I would also like the pc to get drunk and then based on their personality have a line of banter or 2 maybe 1 unique animation. drunk renegade throws a mug and smashes it against the wall when the bartender cuts her off. Drunk paragon very drunk attempts to reason sweetly with the bartender for another drink. sarcastic pc could distract other patrons and steal their drinks. Okay maybe this would be a bit much but it would be fun.
