Did anyone like or think the trailers pre-release of Dragon Age were good or gave the impression the game would be good?
Personally, I thought the trailers were abysmal, making it look like some sort of trashy God Of war hack-in-slash type game with marketing aimed at the Gears Of War type console crowd, it made the game look like it's aiming low.

It was aimed at young folk to give them the impression that old style RPGs can be fun and full of action.
Give Bioware a break. They want more customers. There is no harm in making trailers such as these to make people at least consider buying the game. The important thing is that the actual gameplay is not a brainless hack and slash.
Plus, the trailers were fun to watch.

I prefer them to the Manson marketing trailer some months back.

I wish they had had Alistair in the trailers ó.ò Would've been awesome.
But I guess they hadn't decided how his final model would look like when those were made. Ah well

I enjoyed the early trailers featuring events in Ostagar. I could only mock the whole MM advertising campaign that followed. I did enjoy the invidual character trailers despite rather blatant pandering through sexytime clips for three of the romances.
Sacred Ashes was a cut above them all of course, and was so good I completely forgave BioWare's "New ****" campaign afterwards.

I thought the trailers were quite good.
They were meant to showcase the more action-filled side of DA as if they filled an advert up with a map with blood droplets on it (lets face it, you spend most of your time on this screen) it won't sell many copies.
Todays market is more demanding than it has ever been. Todays average gamer across PC and console has a short attention span and likes hard shooting quick moving action games. Those that are fans of RPG's and/or BioWare would already know about this game and either have a desire to have it already, or not as the case may be. The adverts were aimed at getting some of the MW2/ Assassins Creed 2 crowd playing DA:O.

Someone in the marketing department HAD to lose their job over that.
