Is this the part where it's ok to be proud to own a console?
Sure. Just don't play it.

LOL, glad I'm not a PC gamer by trade, I suppose. Though games such as Watch Dogs look quite beautiful on console despite outdated tech, I will be sore however if DA3 is next gen exclusive though.
You think they will make a port for current gen consoles?
I imagine by the time it is released, most AAA releases will be next gen titles, no?

What? You realize that DA3 will be using the frostbite 2 engine with console right? If a console can play it without issues, so can an 8 year old PC.
One thing that's good about the lengthy console cycles is that PC gamers know they'll be able to play any multi-plat games for the next decade without an upgrade.

Don't think Frostbite 2 even runs on current consoles. Aren't they DX9 only ? Frostbite needs DX11
BF3 shipped on PS3 and Xbox360 platforms

The PS4 and next-gen Xbox are reportedly launching some time next year. If I understand correctly, DA3 is scheduled for "late 2013."

Honestly? I Really really really hope DA3 straddles consoles or is this gen and not next considering late 2013 is flirting with release date or not release date for next gen. I would eventually buy a ps4 or xbox 720, You know at about 200-400 bucks years down the road, unless they are at that price out the gate, in which case, my perspective changes, And as much as I rely on gaming as a means to express not only myself as much as DA means to me as a fan(boy), a means to pass time and conversation with friends, I would be conflicted to buy a next gen version (cheap gamer syndrome). Because I don't see them being less than 500 bucks out of the gate.

Do you know if publishers released titles for both old and new gen hardware for a while around the time of the last console update to the PS3 and 360, or did they just suddenly stop releasing titles for the older consoles?
I'm not very familiar with the recent consoles, as unfortunately the last one I owned only had 8 bits

Man the same engine that power Bf3 is now used in a game with bigger enviroment and scenery. Bioware better do some serious optimizations for the game or there will be some serious lag.
As long as you have a computer that can run Vista/Win7 and a graphics card that is DX10/11 compatible, you'll be able to play DA3. Multiplatform games do not push the graphical envelope on PCs and they never will, and lets face it, Bioware isn't known for pushing extreme graphics either. So I doubt there will be any computer destroying shenanigans from DA3.

BF3 and Witcher 2 are two multiplatform games which are rather demanding on PC, but still seem to run fine on console (obviously at lower resolution and lower settings).
So far, however, every Bioware game I've ever played has run very well on my laptop at 1920x1080, with most or all settings maxed, despite not having the greatest graphics card. Haven't tried BF3. Witcher 2 runs like crap, even at 1280x720.
