This. I have no interest in ******, so for every bare breast I have to look at, I expect an equivalent amount of schlong.

Breast are not the equivalent of male genitalia. You already see ****loads of man pec in the games.

Male chests aren't sexualised in the same way breasts are. It's not the same thing at all.

It's a hell of a lot closer than genitalia. a good set abs and pecs are equally sexualized among women; but they have the benefits of a lack of unusual societal censorship.

Hehe, this.

I'm tired how boobs are all mature and the male equipment is the biggest taboo. What a hypocrisy. Either do it right or don't do it at all. On the record, I prefer my games to be less Showtime-y.

Intimate moments with Liara (aside from Shep's bra) were handled very well in Mass Effect, l like this style of cutscenes.

I wonder when people will realise that Bioware does put in quite a few breasts in their games.. probably why a lot of them are M for mature.

Broodmother.
Banshee.
Oghren.

Art is becoming more and more of a joke. "If a game is artistic it should have full nudity!"

What's next...?

Art began to become a joke when it became used to defend crap or perverted behaviour.

Wait - no - art began to become damaged when they started happening - it started to become a joke when annoying frustrating pasty skinned people with weak immune systems began declaring their understanding of things that make no sense and claiming everyone else was beneath them because they didn't understand.

Yes, the perfect description for religious folk.

Funny, most religious people I know are cool that you can have a few beers with, watch Bloodsport and maybe something else and talk about life and God.

Whereas the nerdy, only watch anime, game of throne reading (hey at least he/she moved past Dragonlance) is a total buzz killer, since the most exciting part they do in their life is pulling away the curtain once or twice to let the sun in.

As I've said a million times before.

If I can see my character decapitate someone's head in battle I should be able to see full nudity (for both genders) in a sex scene. Furthermore Bioware really needs to grow up and stop with the stupid sexualized armour in combat but then chickening out during scenes where sexualization would be contextually appropriate.

Well then games aren't artistic according to you, something nearly everyone in this forum strongly advocate that it is.

In that case, I apologise, since I too don't see games as art.

I have not said games are not art nor have I claimed that they are art.

Why?

So let me get this straight, you see games as art and you want nudity in the game, but not for artistic purposes? So... you just want to stare at a couple of breasts?

i really hope we DO NOT get witcher style romances, if i wanted that i'd just go replay the witcher, i love dao and da2 romances exactly the way they are, and both games can not be compared to the witcher, they are different style games and are not even made by the same company, erghhhhhhhhhh, why do people want ripped off copycat games :(

I would like to remind people here that a person's character and traits are not relevant to the validity of their argument. An attack on such is ad hominem by nature.

I am somewhat inclined to think that the analogy between breasts and a man's junk is appropriate, as they are both sexualized body parts. Frankly, I would not care to view either in the game because the actual ability to watch two video game characters have sex does not constitute a meaningful addition to this genre of game. Black screen would get the point across just as easily. There's no need to watch.

I want nudity to be in the game when it's contextually appropriate. If two characters are having sex I see no reason why they should be clothed.

Personally, I don't feel like that kind of nudity fits well into the DA universe.
The witcher 2 pulled it of tastefully because of its very dark tone. The nudity added to the dark feel of raw realism ( yes there are dragons lol ). Whilst Dragon age has a pretty dark setting, I still wouldn't say that it's a '' dark fantasy '' as the Witcher series. Also, I don't think Bioware will be able to make it tasteful, the witcher pulled it off fantastically but we've all seen how Bioware handled it. Dragon age origins pulled it off very well but look at Dragon age 2 and Mass effect 3. They sexualised it WAY too much ( god damn it, EDI even have a ****** o.O ). Tbh Isabella, Edi, Ashley and even a bit of Liara makes me just feel offended. Like they are treating us like mindless idiots whom crave over the top sexualised characters.

It depends what tone they choose for DA3 however. But I still don't think that they should go the same route that the Witcher series did. It's nothing against Bioware, I just don't think that they can pull it off. And that's because of the setting of the games, not Biowares inability as developers.

Cause romance ---> screwing, y'know? One leads to the other.

I agree.

Too many people on this forum think sex scenes are tacky while have no problem whatsoever with their characters wandering around covered in blood, carving up people left and right.

Dragon Age games are not rated for children.

It's time the in-game experience started to (fully) reflect that.

No, and it really doesn't need that.

You're not mature just cause you play video games that includes breasts. You're mature by how you live your life and adult enough to not be bothered whether a romance scene has explicits images in it, cause you're a grown up and can imagine the rest what happens and what's been implied.

Like I wrote before, just do it like ME3 did. Have the characters be nude, but use the lighting, arms and such, to cover the private parts (breasts included) and only have the scene last around 20 seconds at most. Everyone wins.

Its not about what we consider mature.

The ratings agencies give it an 18+ or M rating. They have labeled it mature.

Bioware are thus able to do a bit more adult content. But they shy away from it. For the game they made, they got an M rating. Barely. But instead of indulging to get that rating, they try their best to stay just on the fence.

If you're going to make a game that you know will be rated for adults, then you might aswell just go for it.
