Its easy to show more when you have a fixed protaganist having sex with a fixed romantic interest like the Witcher.

But thats not a Bioware game. I wouldn't want my character creation and romantic options limited just so there could be a graphic sex scene. I'd rather they spend their efforts expanding the conversation/character/romance options. My imagination can handle what goes on during a fade to black just fine thanks.

I enjoyed the romance (note: not sex) between Triss and Geralt, though I'd recommend to stay away from the sex scenes portayed in TW2 (though Ves didn't have too bad of one). While showing nudity has never killed anyone, I'd rather it remained tasteful--something along the lines of the Mass Effect 1 scene.

Perhaps because video games are a medium and like any other medium, shouldn't be restricted simply because people think others "******" to it or because they feel video games as a medium are somehow inferior to film or novels (as in, they don't shy away from the details).

i think the point is the romances in bioware are cheesy. me1 had it right no bs underwear scenes, still romantic, and not to sleezy either. its not about ****** its about realism. if they are going to do it they shouldnt halfass it.

I just prefer to not have them try it, because I get the feeling it might turn out embarrassingly bad. I just can't help but remember what they've done with hands and Merrill's neck in DA 2. I just really don't want my LIs to look as bad as that when they're naked.
And naked people? Hard to get right in a videogame.

I'd personally like it as a somewhat toned down version of The Witcher 2. As previously stated, less ooohs and ahhhs. I'm not against nudity when it's done properly.

That was dreadful...and rushed, I'm sure of it. Or they didn't care. If you compare that to the scene in ME1, I know they can do better. If it's not something they really want to show anymore in their games, then have the PC blowing a candle out, fade to black, and call it good.

^ I don't mind nudity in of itself, but the type of sex scenes in Witcher 2 and in HBO series not only don't add anything to the story, they're boring. In the rare occasions where there is a story purpose I don't mind, but that's really rare, otherwise I always fast forward/skip them, and if that's not possible I sit there thinking "Ok, we get it! They're having sex, can we get back to the plot now? Pretty please?"

So why I don't mind either way if we see a bit of nudity or not,  I do not want the scenes from Witcher 2, waste of time and resources. Well that's just my opinion anyway.

The line of thinking has honestly always boggled my mind. The most revered novels, movies and TV shows have sex scenes shown explicitly. 

Do people honestly think video games are so immature that they cannot include the same materials shown in novels and tv? This is the mindset that will leave video games in a state of narrative inferiority to it's counterparts. 

What other mature themes do you people want insinuated and not shown explicitly? Should we leave brutal executions to a simple dialogue piece spoken by a random NPC? Leave drug addiction to the codex as opposed to being shown explicitly within the game's atmosphere?

I salute you, boys and girls, for holding video games back as a story-telling medium.

Well, there's some good porn out there like...like...err...alright, it is pretty crappy.

But that's why I honestly prefer Eroges or any other kind of virtual porn to the average real-person porn. I can't look at it without rolling my eyes and thinking 'Is it really THAT hard to not act like a retard while doing this?'.
