I would prefer that their resources were more focused on the story rather than creating nude models for the PC and each potential romance. I personally have no interest in watching sex scenes like this, I think it looks awkward and borderline creepy but if people want it in the game and it makes the game more enjoyable for them then I won't stop them. Each to their own.

I don't mind either way, nothing wrong with nudity so long as it's not gratuitous but equally there is nothing wrong with keeping your romances a bit more PG. So long as it's appropriate for the tone of the game, the character's etc. and so long as it is done well then I'm happy.

Whilst BioWare's fade to black 'sex' scenes aren't perfect, I think they do an ok job and see no reason they cannot refine their style yet again with DA3 without changing things up too drastically.

I say yes, because sex with your clothes on is too weird.

I prefer nudity.

It's not porn, it's a video game.

I think BioWare does this sort of thing rather well. Infact, I think Mass Effect 2 did it spot on. It was implied that the characters had sex. But it wasn't necessary to actually show it.

If BioWare could manage to have the player choose whether nudity should be censored or not in the game (yes, this goes for the main character too), I might be down for that.

Otherwise, for the sake of controversy towards BioWare, that's their choice.

Funny how many people here equate nudity with sex and sex with porn.

... wait, on a second thought it isn't funny at all.

Nudity for nuditys sake alone is pointless. don't get me wrong, I would be more than happy for Bioware to flip-off Fox and I think DA2's...aproach to the romance scenes felt too much like Self-Censorship. DA did it alrigh,. Mass Effect 1 did it better with clever camera angles. . - when its done tastefully and when it needs to be there and only when it needs to be there. Nudity for nuditys sake is not mature and not required, there has to be some middle ground.

Umm... have you played Witcher 2? It's very graphic.

Some folks think that's mature. I think it's immature to show that sort of thing in a video game. Having it implied is more than enough.

Most of the sex scenes in the Witcher are very graphic, AKA not mature. "Mature" means the ability to take in heavy stuff with ease, not drooling over T&A or C&A because you can. Being able to see a five-second scene of softcore at the tip of a coin is not art or mature, at least in this context. The Witcher is an entirely different monster from Dragon Age, but I will say this.

Sex in media is stupid when it's for sex's sake.
Sex in media to better a dynamic between two people is amazing when done right.

For all the game's love of T&A, Geralt and Triss' lovemaking in the elven baths is probably one of the most poignant love scenes in gaming history for one of the best relationships in gaming history. Really, if you take out the ******, it's almost poetry like the scene in the Sands of Time where the Prince and Farah hit it off, also in a bath. Really, so long as you use sex as a mechanism to push a relationship along, I don't care on how graphic it is.

Or maybe Dragon Age could just use more baths?

If I see an 18 rated movie I know there is a fair chance I'll see sex and nudity. Why should an 18 rated game be different? I'm not hugely bothered how graphic an in game love scene will be, what I'm looking for is realism. Personally, ME1 got it about right.

I support the OP, as long as the scenes themselves are tastefully done.

I agree.

Too many people on this forum think sex scenes are tacky while have no problem whatsoever with their characters wandering around covered in blood, carving up people left and right.

Dragon Age games are not rated for children.

It's time the in-game experience started to (fully) reflect that.

I really don't care about nudity one way or the other, as long as that nudity isn't gratuitous and primarily there for male viewer gratification (i.e. the Witcher sex scenes).

I'd be okay with ME1 type nudity, but I would also prefer DA2's approach of having romance scenes unique to the LI.

You know, there are kids under 17 who play DA and other rated M games. Do you honestly think it's a good idea to show them sex scenes like that? I'm going to go with "no". I like how BioWare did it in DA2, we got the point and it wasn't too revealing. And for the record, you're part of the reason why hardly anyone outside the gaming community takes gamers seriously. Hmm...I wonder how long it will take for this to get locked?

No, and it really doesn't need that.

You're not mature just cause you play video games that includes breasts. You're mature by how you live your life and adult enough to not be bothered whether a romance scene has explicits images in it, cause you're a grown up and can imagine the rest what happens and what's been implied.

Like I wrote before, just do it like ME3 did. Have the characters be nude, but use the lighting, arms and such, to cover the private parts (breasts included) and only have the scene last around 20 seconds at most. Everyone wins.

If they're going to take anything from TW2, I'd say it should be having consequences for your choices. And having good graphics. And having less nonsensical plot elements.

If we went ME3 way, we'll have everyone having bra sex except for one single LI (Liara) who, for some reason, can go nude when everyone else can't.

Well, love scenes like with Liara in ME 3. Didn't romance the others and Tali never goes out of her suit any way.

This is a prime example how gamers dont get taken serious, with the immature "boobs = mature" mindset.
I would however like to avoid the silly underwearsex scenes, even a fade to black is better, my imagination have no problems imagining what happens.

Yeah. The only thing wrong with the sex scenes in DAO was the underwear. Fortunately, that flaw was easily remedied by modders.
The way they approached sex in DA2 was just horrible with those fully clothed scenes.

If you're going to have sex scenes, do them properly with the appropriate nudity -- or don't do them at all!
But since there are going to be romances, so should there be sex scenes -- proper ones in the nude -- and for equality's sake - no censorship on either female or male anatomy!!
