Can we please have Ariane from the Witch Hunt DLC as companion in DA3?

Yes please. Although I would like to see Finn return as a companion even more than Ariane, and I doubt both would turn up as companions again sadly.

Ultimately I would just really like another female Elf warrior.

Edit: The argument that they wouldn't be remembered by most players, and thus shouldn't return, is silly. They would undoubtably be reintroduced to any new players/players who missed Witch Hunt etc. Thus would be in the same boat as any other new companion being added. Similar rule goes for any of the Asunder character's who turn up, they won't expect everyone to have read the book.

Ariane could be cool to have back, but she needs to be a stronger character. Finn was probably killed by templars in the rebellion.

Both Ariane and Finn were very forgettable and plain characters. The story of Witch Hunt would be way better if it was just the Warden and his/her dog. But, obviously, we need a tank and a healer. That's all these characters were to me.
If they made them appear with nicer looks and a more developed personality, I wouldn't mind their appearance. Finn felt very stereotypical.

Lies! Finn and Vera could overcome any obstacle, and he had his special hat too. Plus on a more serious note there was that tantalizing 'did it mean anything' last remark by the statue which seemingly implied he would never return to the Ferelden Circle (could just mean he never saw the statue again but that's boooooring).

Hmm, don't know if I'd want them as party members again, but they could definitely work as cameos. Maybe they've been doing some adventuring of their own since they parted ways with the Warden...? Maybe they have some useful information after both retrieving the Dalish book and...whatever it was that Morrigan gave the Warden. Which reminds me...

what did Morrigan give the Warden!?
Ugh, that's been driving me crazy.

Oh, um...pardon the outburst. Anyway! Yes, I'd love to see both Ariane and Finn make an appearance. Will we have to, um, Inquisitize them? :o

Heh, heh. Nice try pal. Still, I do agree though. I mean, if they could pull an obscure character like Merrill from the Dalish origin story, and make her work for the main one DAII, then there is no reason to believe that it couldn't work for DAIII in the case of Ariana and/or Finn, although I am hoping more for Ariana. :)

Why hello, new favorite thread on the BSN!

I would love to see Ariane again, but for me, she's a package deal with Finn. I can't have one without the other! I hope we get to find out what happened to them after Witch Hunt, and possibly even join them for another adventure or two!

Personally, I found the companion dialogue and writing in Witch Hunt to be my favorite in the entire series. It was nice after the hundred hours of combined dark, hopeless, dreariness of Origins, Awakening, and Golems to have a light-hearted little adventure with a pair of wet-behind-the-ears companions. There was a lot of levity there, and I really enjoyed it.

Same here! After the Merrill come back to DAII, an Ariane come back for DAIII shouldn't be out of the question.

I found Ariane easier to stomach than Merrill anyway.

Ariane was less of an extreme.

Sure. They were both funny and had some nice moments. Another female warrior is never a bad thing either.

She's certainly better than Tallis.

They were both forgettable compared to the majority of other companions, even the temp ones we got for just one DLC, so if they did choose to bring a companion back I'd hope it would be pretty much anyone else..

So was Merrill but we all know how that ended up: she became a main DAII party member.

She is level 30. Would be abit overpowered to bring along in a level 1 party.

I bet if you asked 100 Dragon Age players who that character was only 10-12 would be able  to answer correctly so I doubt they would waste resources like that.

How would it be a waste of resources?

Merrill was a character in DAO that only players who played Dalish Elves MIGHT have remembered.

Big difference between a game and a DLC.

Not really when you consider only so many players played the Dalish Elf Origin and only so many players played Witch Hunt.

Hell, Isabela was completely missable in DAO.

In the end, the writers can bring ANY character back(major or minor) and make it work if they want to.

exactly, the minor they are the more they can bring them back and develop them further, hence Isabela and Merril

As long as they don't completely rewrite her personality like they did with Merrill (and Marethari), I'd be okay with it. =)
