Was I the only one who thought that the singing Bartrand heard was the call of the Old Gods because from what I've seen on the forums no one has brought it up before? Think about it, Bartrand describes a beautiful song that he desperately tries to here again causing him to go insane that's the same thing thing that happened to The Mother from DAO:A.
Good idea, kinda goes with someone else's idea that lyrium is "from the Maker" (infused with magic from the Fade) and it would be corrupted by the "taint"

I considered this as well. Perhaps the idol is the representations of one of the old gods (before they became corrupted)?

It is likely to return. Maybe the Templars are using it as a substitute as they've split from the Chantry who control the lyrium.
Oh, goodie. Cause the militant Templar weren't crazy enough before.

This.
sure, let's drop all the plot hooks just because your majesties can't get over your seething dislike for the game
let's pick up from where dao left off, that would automatically make things so much better
and sprinke everything with Morrigans
Relax, its just my opinion. I thought the implementation of the Red Lyrium/Lyrium Idol was not well done and it left a sour taste in my mouth. I'd rather that plot line stay in DA2 than be carried forward because I'm not confident it can be handled in a way I'll enjoy.
No need for passive agressiveness.

What if we learn more about the primeval dwarves who made the idol, and an explanation for the origins of the profane?LPPrince wrote...

Now here's the kind of response I want to see.
Anywho,
Eh, if red lyrium returns, I think it needs a big retcon. When I think of the red lyrium, it always leads me back to the ridiculous ending with Meredith and what it did to her.
Because of that, I'm psychologically opposed to it. Completely. As in I want it excluded entirely.
BUT, if it HAS to be in DA3-
It should be used in small amounts. A form of mind control, perhaps. I'm not sure I'd be high on learning about its origins. I'd like to learn about primeval dwarves sure, as long as it had nothing to do with red lyrium. Same for the origins of the Profane.
