I know pretty much everyone wants dragon age 3 to be amazing. I want it to be bioware's best game yet. But after da2 and me3 im skeptical. It seems like bioware has lost their touch. So i wanted to see what everyone else thought, and since bioware loves speculation lets have at it. How good do you think dragon age 3 will be based on what you have heard and bioware's more recent titles? As of now and probably until a few weeks after release I am on the fence. No way I am pre-ordering but my eye is on it for sure. However im not sure if it will be the next great bioware title we are looking for. So what are your thoughts so far?

I really, really, REALLY want DA3 to be amazing! And part of me believes Bioware can do it. The other part of me has been reading these forumn posts and thinking, 'Uh-oh... that's a lot of stuff people are asking for...' And another part is worried that ME3 and DA2 are signs of bad things to come...

Im going to expect it to be as bad as possible, that way i might be pleasantly surprised when it can't possibly meet my expectations of how bad it will be.

or allows it to be more accurately. if the deadline they set for bioware did not allow enough time there is no way it will be as good as everyone hopes.

I honestly dont expect much but I am interested to see how it turns out whether it be good or a complete train wreck.

Personally my money is on this forum errupting into flames the moment some actual information on the game is released.

It HAS to be great. Bioware badly needs a return to form or previously loyal fans will begin to desert them.

as true as this is i doubt they would care at this point. the kotor and before group makes up a very small portion of their profit from games. thats why they have been streamlining the games more and more. they might anger the original loyal fans but the new ones they bring in make up for it. it sucks but its true.

I think it'll be good
unless they are acting too much on feedback and just mash everything that people think should be in together ... or take pieces from other games that worked there and stitch them together like Frankenstein's Monster - not a pretty picture.

Thiis is a fair point, but given the diminishing quality of recent games will they still pull in new fans like before?

im sure they will at least for a time. its not like ea cares about bioware they just want to drain them for money by using popular ip's as cash cows so it wont last forever, but if you look at the people who played me3 or da2 first they think those games are absolutely amazing and revolutionary. they dont see a drop in quality yet because they are new fans. so unless it gets even worse which i really hope it doesnt quite the opposite in fact you can expect bioware to stay around for at least another couple of years.

Well I liked DA2 good enough and ME3 was amazing IMO (except from when you beam up) so I am not really worried at all TBH.

I've had enough speculations for one Bioware game to last a few decades. <_<

Bioware losing its touch? Not likely. I know nothing about ME3, I only watched the introduction from the demo (ME it's not my kind of game), but DA2 was good. Detailed society, carefully developed, credible and evolving characters, innovative main conflict, improved combat system. EA forced Bioware to release it early, thus the repeating environments and canceled quests. DA3 chosen title Inquisition bothered me at first, but not anymore. I never pre-ordered a Bioware game, but I will this time.

ME3 was a great game, They messed up the last 20 minutes of it but i think they've learned their lessons from it and DA2.

I would grant BioWare a marvelous Dragon Age III and I believe they can achieve that. For me personally it'll be very likely weaker than Origins but much better than Dragon Age II. To step up to Origins it has to compensate the loss of the silent protagonist and text walls with pretty amazing features that weren't in Origins. And I doubt that.

I really want this game to take the best of both games (yes I did think there were many good things in DA2) and make DA3 into a proper successful sequel.

I think if BW is willing to listen to what we like and don't like and found the common denominator among everyone's suggestions I think we can come to a compromise and get an excellent game we know they're capable of making. However from I've heard of the engine upgrade and bits of "story" leaked, I think this is going in a fine direction to be honest.

i dont talk about the story or plot, we will see and maybe it is excellent, BUT the FEAR is the gameplay, if the news or rumours are true, dialogue wheel, voice character, customization, mulitplayer. Simplified again, without main character...?. Its early for to talk or to judge it, best to wait..

... so read my lips now: it's gonna be crap of the ages.

Seriously though - I want it to be amazing, but ME3 and DA2 (DA 2 not as bad as you think - plot, characters and dialogues are flawless!) are bad signs.

Kinda wait and see situation, but my expectations towards DA3 are litmited. Frostbite 2 - seriously? ME4 - 'what direction should we go in - let's ask fans!', seriously? :/ So now, it's gonna be DA2 on big steroids, great world, characters, and maybe plot, but don't expect earthquake :(

Quit acting like a voiced character is a bad thing and that most people prefer a silent protagonist.  You have no proof.

Also, quit acting like they are taking away customization options for your character.  For companions, it'll be a step above DA2 last I heard.

And the gameplay was never an issue in DA2.  It was the recycled maps, poorly handled spawning points/too much emphasis on waves of enemies, and enemy corpses exploding too much when you kill them.  That kind of thing is a design issue and not the combat mechanics themselves which were fine.

I am expecting a great game. I think DA3 might be the best in the series.

If nothing else I am expecting a fun game to rent from Blockbuster before I make a purchasing decision
