i dont talk about the story or plot, we will see and maybe it is excellent, BUT the FEAR is the gameplay, if the news or rumours are true, dialogue wheel, voice character, customization, mulitplayer. Simplified again, without main character...?. Its early for to talk or to judge it, best to wait..
Also, quit acting like they are taking away customization options for your character. For companions, it'll be a step above DA2 last I heard.
And the gameplay was never an issue in DA2. It was the recycled maps, poorly handled spawning points/too much emphasis on waves of enemies, and enemy corpses exploding too much when you kill them. That kind of thing is a design issue and not the combat mechanics themselves which were fine.
Voiced protag is actually a bad thing, because it limits the possibility to roleplay the main character properly. At least for me.

Even if it comes at the cost of not picking between different species.
And as hard as it will be for me to leave Hawke behind, I'm looking forward to getting more insights into Thedas through the Inquisitor.
Again, even if that comes at the costs of being the single most important person in all of Thedas.
Just because it's a role playing game doesn't mean the PC has to play an important role all the time and the fate of the world hinges on each and every decision.
It was a good thing for Mass Effect to make the trilogy about Shepard, but if the path they choose to take for Dragon Age is to introduce a new protagonist with each game, I'm okey with that.

Also, I sadly expect that they force players to use EA-Origin shop if they want to purchase DA3.

Unfortunatelly, I think Bioware pretends to do a mixture between Dragon Age 2 and the Bethesda formula. I don't expect to see anything from Origins, the game they shoulkd be trying to refine and emulate. It's sad, but I do not expect a great game; not even a good one.

you can depend on the game only being availble on origin for pc. its a shame that they force you to use a system with terrible customer support, trys to ban you from playing all your games for simple profanity violations, and requires you to have an internet connection to access the single player portions of games you bought. i know this is a bit off topic but ea has a twisted perception of drm. it doesnt prevent people from pirating the game it just makes it harder for legitmate buyers to enjoy the game. waste of time and resources.

I'm one of the few that liked DA2 much, much more than DA:O and I'm worried they'll roll some things back to appeal to the more vocal segment that disliked things in DA2
more people bought dragon age 1 and though i liked some of dragona age 2 I would like it to be more like dragon age 1 and if thats what most people want then thats what bioware will listen to

That's what makes me nervous ...although the founders goodbye messages were very "professionally and politically correct " written .. I don't think it tells the "whole story"
Consider this equation....
Bioware joins EA
+ ME3 comes out to the most negative customer reviews that I know of of any Bioware game in history
+ Just a FEW MONTHS after this occurs BOTH founders of Bioware decided to "retire" at the exact same time and at a relatively early age. not to just chill out but for " other opportunities"
To me at least that
= there is more to this story than we have been told and that makes me worry time will tell DA3 is the ultimate test to see what Bioware still has left in it.
To be honest and this is sad because I been a fan of Bioware for many many years and franchises so I am not going to speculate on the quality of DA and just wait and hope Bioware proves my foreboding feelings wrong and lives up to the potential that i know they are capeable of .

founders or former ceo's of companies often "retire" after being bought by a larger company. usually it is agreed upon that they leave after a few years and recieve a large amount of money. that way the company has greater control to do whatever they want leaving the employees nobody to look up to and say "maybe that isnt a good idea". it happens all the time in the corporate world. maybe this is not the case though its possible they were sick of the way bioware was being treated by ea with strict deadlines and such, and its also even possible (although very unlikely) that they just wanted to retire. however due to one of the statements the former founders made in which he stated that he had lost the passion for gaming im guessing they either agreed to leave during the aquistion agreements, or they left because they did not like the direction bioware is being forced to go in.
i feel your pain though. i have loved bioware since kotor and some of my most memorable moments in gaming were playing mass effect 2. its a shame me3 and da2 were such a let down. i hope the best for bioware in the future by i dont want to hold my breath, and i sure as hell will not be pre-ordering from them ever again.

I think EA is very good at making money, must be alot more profit in making average games than in making great games. When people buy the game and then are disappointed, EA still received the money they wanted so player feedback means nothing as long as a certain number of people purchase their games they make money.
EA is the coach that makes money off its "fighters" taking falls, many people lose money but EA isn't one of them. DA 3 will be average, not bad but not great and only previous fans will notice the fall in quality however new fans will stick around to see how the next game goes.
Personally though, I don't see this as being BW's last chance but EA's because I'm sick of the way they do business... If DA3 fails i'll avoid EA games, most of my friends have already started however I know most people are cattle and don't look at the bigger picture so they'll keep consuming EA products and swallow the new trend of DLC, micro transactions and such.

I know pretty much everyone wants dragon age 3 to be amazing. I want it to be bioware's best game yet. But after da2 and me3 im skeptical.
I will, of course, do the wait and see game, and pray to be disproved in spectacular fashion.
But 2 games in a row where they dropped the ball. and in Dragon Age's case, dropping the ball, stomping on it, then tossing it out the window. We've also got people like Mike Laidlaw saying "no more 180s", I mean, you just can't ignore stuff like that. It all just points to the next game simply being a polished DA2. Which isn't what I'm looking for, so...
