When I start up my Mass Effect 3, I can't connect to the EA servers 90 percent of the time. Sometimes I do get in and I can play multiplayer. Sometimes it lags on the "communicating" and sometimes I get to the main menu, but it says I lost connection to the servers. I bought Mass Effect 3 the day it came out, and the multiplayer was working fine back then until something like a month ago when this started happening.I have tried restarting my modem several times but nothing changes. I am certain that the reason is NOT in my modem, because Mass Effect 3 worked fine before and because every other online game I play is not hampered in any way. I have tried temporarily disabling my Anti-Virus also and that did not work. Mass Effect 2 connects fine when I try. Any Ideas?
Happens the same, here. ME3 is my first multiplayer game. So, we had lags (characters flying, enemies which cannot be killed, crashes, servers down, "lost connection" messages... Now I know how difficult is defend the Earth; Poor Shepard!

For the last month or so I have had trouble connecting to ME3.
I get the message saying "ME3 servers are unavailable at this time", usually this also crashes the game.
The first time I went through all the troubleshooting threads and followed everyones suggestions about port forwarding, flushing dns, turning on/off windows services, connecting router via ethernet instead of wifi - all the usual stuff people suggest.
It seemed to work, I was able to connect after a few hours.
But then I wasn't able to connect for a few days. Then I could for a day. Then 3 days I couldn't connect. Then a week it was fine. Then again it stopped working. Missed one weekend event where all I had to do was log in and promote x2. Then it worked for Operation Patriot (rocked the Quarians), now it doesn't let me in again today.
To me this pattern clearly indicates it is not an issue with settings on my pc/network, as they remain constant from day to day. Now I just try to log in, if it don't work I leave it until tomorrow.
Does this seem familiar to anyone else?

yes except i normally try to connect a few times and manage to get in, its something odd though so it might be location /isp based rather than purely down to EA haveing utterly ****** servers
but bizzarely origin will log me in at startup, i wait a good 10 mins (getting coffee) after turnign on the pc to start playing load up me3, get at least 3 crashes /connection from server messages wihtin 20 mins, get stable play for 1 game get a hard lock (fortunatley windows 7 detects this and forces the game to close so i dont have ot do a pc restart) then i'll get another game maybe after waiting upto 5 minutes to load the multiplayer screen, get kicked back to the main menu (another 5 min wait) then find i've been kicked out of a lobby wihtout ever having seen it, and finally be able ot play for about 3 hours before it hardlocks again and then i'll get bored of it and just do soemthign else.
but i think a good few of the "disconnected messages" are actually down to my internet dropping out as opposed to the server beign erroneous, sucks ass though to get all the way through to the loading screen on the credits and still miss out on the rewards, i mean wtf why cant the stupid system actually give us a reward of something, if i solo a silver mission and fail to complete past lvl 4 i still get credits and a fair amount of xp, yet crashing out of the finall load screen on the way to the lobby and i dont get anything makes me feel a bit like playing something else >>>

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kind of fix - Windows 7 64bit
Edit: Discovered a kind of fix for it - however - sometimes 'quick match' sits there at connecting for eternity - and lag increase seems higher more frequently - however - have only experienced one disconnect in 5 games. Worth a shot if you're having trouble.
1) Go to start and run Services.msc (it will have a little cog icon when you search for it)
2) Scroll down the list and disable UPnP Device Host - (should be set to manual)
3) Scroll down and set SSDP to manual and stop if running.
4) Go to your Network and Sharing Center - Advanced Sharing Settings - and tick 'Turn off network discovery'
Seemed to resolve the issues (also to note is I had UPnP disabled in my modem settings prior to doing this steps from previous trouble shooting - so unsure if that would make a difference, but at this time, justy happy to be able to complete a few MP games).

I was having this problem with a new computer I just got last night. Trying to get into ME3 servers today, I kept getting the "...servers are unavailable..." messages. I tried a bunch of times and finally got in, but kept getting disconnected from games in the later waves. I then searched, and found the following solution in an old thread. Since I did made these changes, I've had five games to extraction. I don't know if it's really a fix, or if things just got better connectionwise, but it SEEMS to work, Maybe it will work for others having a problem. Note that UPnP was enabled in my router by default, and I disabled it at the same time as I made these other changes. Also, I port forwarded ports 3659 and 6000 in my router. All these things together is working now. I hope it lasts!

well that fixed the majority of the problem, strange that ea cant code origin so it doesnt create the same problem every time they update it
instead were forced ot disable things some of us require in order to use network printers in our homes >.<

It seems when I have the "Mass Effect servers are unavailable at this time..." problem, the best way to reconnect is to exit the game and relaunch from Origin. Once I'm connected, it's been rock solid with those fixes.

And it's good to see someone's post about this got through!!!! I've bee n posting and asking for days now - I haven't been able to get onto the server since Wednesday, and it's driving me mad!!! I might just go file that ticket.
Of course, you know when this'll be fixed, right? When it's too late to collect our packs.

I can connect to Steam without problem though...so it's definitly a problem on EA side. Tried to run Origin on admin mode but nothing changed

I only seem to get this on the Friday when an MP operation starts. Generally it's sorted by Saturday, possibly late Friday, but it smells like an EA problem.
