DA2 has it's pros and cons, but overall I liked a lot of the things they did different in that game.

-Sarcasm was great (most of the time)
-all romances being available to any gender
-Isabela/Varric
-I liked the various weapons and armor that made you and your companions unique in looks
-Friendship/Rivalry
-I actually liked the Hawke voices so I do not mind if they voice the protagonist again so long as they sound like they did and not stilted like MShep
-I liked the fact that the sustained abilities stayed on after a fight, but unlike Origins, you did not see their effect outside of battle. In DAO it made it really distracting in conversations.
-They got the combat right in the DLC, and I would not mind to see more of that. In fact, I do like the difference in combat depending on the class you were. The rogue should be acrobatic and fast, sure, tone down the exaggeration of kicking flasks and jumping 10 feet in the air, but I appreciated the distinction of how fast they were compared to the other classes.

From DA2?

Well... uhmmmm... nothing really... an improved version of the friendship/rivalry system would be okay... I guess.

I quite enjoyed the game. It had a lot of good elements but you can argue the execution.

So I guess I'd like a lot of it back.

I want Merrill too.
I liked the inventory system as I found myself hanging on to less items that were there to sell because I thought they would be useful for something later on.
Also keep all quests open no matter what you specialize in. I wasn't a fan of some quests not being available without a point in stealing or whatever. I never found that one stealing quests in DAO until my second or third time through
Combat: you actually felt powerful. If you were S&S you actually used your shield defensively positioned, if you were 2H you were all offence, etc.

I did enjoy DAII but it wasn't as good as Origins, lacking it's scale and replayability.

- Friendship/Rivalry system was a great idea a lot of people liked.
- The new combat. Admittedly they need to tone down the over-the-top aspects. Maybe something between Origins and DAII. Oh and not having all the enemies being in waves again.
- I actually enjoyed the dialogue system. But feel there's room to make it feel much more unique as opposed to a slightly different Mass Effect wheel. I prefer a voiced protagonist in general.
- The greater diversity of gear between classes. Mages got a better deal overall but I'd like to l the classes get more unique gear.
- Keeping sustained abilities off outside of combat was a nice touch, as was being able to hide you're helmet at all times.
- The new Warden designs, Qunari race (loved the variety shown in Mark of the Assassin) and the new armour styles in general were great.

Yes, I enjoyed the combat animations. I liked that there were different regular attacks based on the class you were as well as how close you were to the enemy. The mage hitting people with their staff was great. The rogue leaping at an enemy to stab down at them felt awesome, and the AoE of a 2H swinging their sword around was great, and helped me strategize who I was going to attack based on their location to other enemies.

Also, the combat dialogue was nice. I had no idea health potions tasted nasty.

Friend/rivalry system, yeah.
Voiced Protagonist along w/ dialogue tones.
The Combat (without the ninja dancing, rogue magic, anime weapons, waves, and ... you know what, just make like DA:O, but more responsive and better tactics and strategy).

and that's it.

Maybe the friendship/rivalry system.

As for the rest of DA2... hell, no. It can stay where it is, gathering dust on my shelf.

Bethany as a LI. Though I would have rather had Hawke go all Targaryen on her.

Didn't they already say the Friend/Rivalry system was going to be ditched for something else?

I'd like some more threads about what we'd like in DA3 to be included in the final version of the game.

Not really, no... maybe the fighting animations for mages. They were way cooler than in DA:O.

The Fast Paced yet Strategic Combat.
The Dialog Wheel Icons (Diamond, Angry Face, ETC.) It adds context to what you're about to do.
Friend/Rivalry.
NO GOOD/EVIL shat. I think your decisions should matter, not an alignment bar.
Varric... and this time as an LI.
Voiced Protagonist: Simon Templeman for Male, And Tara Strong performing a serious more somber style voice for female.
EXTRA PARTY BANTER.
Romance, With options for Chaste ones like our prince.
Surviving Party Members from previous games ALL as party member options.
MORE QUNARI!!!

I liked that the icon showing the game being saved was small and discrete. Also that auras didn't make you light up like a disco ball during conversations.

I can't really think of anything. At the least I would say a character or two, but I didn't even care about any of the characters either.

Voiced protagonist, Fenris, Anders, Merrill, Isabela and Carver/Beth. I like the overall game of DAO a thousand times more than DA2, but I love the DA2 characters waaaaaaaay more than any DAO character.

Well off the top of my head:

-Returning characters (only if it will enrich the new story/protagonist)
-Friendship/Rivalry system (This is pretty important since the characters react differently to your PC and I thought that was pretty cool.)
-Combat (I like the combat but wouldn't mind improvements to tactics.)
-Voiced protagonist (Don't care for him/her to be silent really. The Warden just looked silly in half of the conversations in Origins.)
