I edited the OP. Because apparantly Bioware is inspired by Skyrim for exploration purposes. But as for gameplay I think Bioware should find inspiration in XCOM Enemy Unknown.

Dragon Age is about the tactical partybased gameplay. But in DA2 I felt that tactics really didn't matter much. Just charge in and use cross class combos and after some waves I would have won. I found that the implementation of cross class combos forced me to play in a certain way. I couldn't really come up with my own tactics. It was as if there was only one right way to play the game. That sucked.

DA3 should bring in the importance of tactically engaging the enemy. Positioning the team. Considering what magic and abilities to use. Reviewing the battlefield and concider a plan B if things goes to hell.

In short. Make the combat in DA3 tactical and partybased. But still give me the freedom to explore and come up with my own tactics. Don't force me to use one certain combination of companions and abilities.

I thought it was more to do with the open world approach not the FPS combat.

Bah, I hate the gameplay of Skyrim.

Never played XCom so no idea how that goes.

I think they are taking ideas from all the exploration stuff.

I think the context was in exploration.
