not enough money for my team and all books so i can get max skills and atributes ect, so how do you enable cheats for the pc and also want to use godmode for all fights, then i can finally get up to kill the archdemon?!?

Alt-F4 should bring up the cheat menu.

cheats just not activating, got patch 1.02 though just getting a load of inventary, map and character menus n i've changed both files so cheats are enabled just not working?

in the keybindings file the line you change gets auto copied to the end, so thats why i think it won't work n yes i have saved files for it to work

1. Open the following file:
\\MyDocuments\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\KeyBindings.ini

2. Scroll down half way through file and find a line like:
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_'

3. At end of the line press Shift-Tilde key and change to:
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_~

4. Create a shortcut to daorigins.exe and add this to Target section:
  -enabledeveloperconsole

5. Your shortcut Target section should now look like this:
"C:\\games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe"  -enabledeveloperconsole

Now inside the game press the Tilde key one time which will put you into cheat mode.
Type in your cheat then press Enter key.  Note that as you type in the cheat code nothing
will appear. Once you press Enter though the cheat should activate, provided you typed
it correctly.

Line #5 above should only have single back slashes, not double back slashes. Don't know why it showed up like that in my post since I only typed single back slashes.

same here i did all that yesterday and all what happened was the other menus up as i was typing the codes but am going to try again

still no luck will it work after origin story? do you have to type enable console or something, but under the line you change there is similar but says unassigned and it says  openconsole 1 - (unassigned)

still not working, so not bothering until someone has done it with patch 1.02, n have tried different origins but still no luck, infact going back to play empire total war for a week or two

Try changing the key to something like F12.

OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F12



And make sure it's definitely daorigins.exe, not the launcher.

Mostly of list here is cheat Mod, it's easy to use and I have mostly no problem with this God Item, it's hard to get it, you have to uncheck box then save a game after start new game then check a box then reload, save then reload, they should be there,

Notice they wanted all the money to max out Atts, and God mod to get to the Archdemon, so they don't realy want to play the game, just beat it.

correct but have played the game countless times n just want a easier time in battle rather than having to heal everyone all the time n last uncheating playthrough didn't have enough money for dagger the thorn of roses ect, so i have played the game properly n really enjoyed it

Much more fun trying to get there the old-fashioned game playing way in my view.........might be cool to have god mode on and feel omnipotent, but only if you have given up actually playing the game but then it shouldn't be called a game. I am new to gaming and actually enjoying the challenge and the fun and didnt even know there was such a thing as cheats and god mode - more fool me eh??

thanks for the advice it finally worked, i had it via the launcher and also change ~ to f12 and it works perfectly, as i said in above post have been playing the game properly until now had it since it came out so i have enjoyed the challenges that the game poses, but just can't seem to get to archdemon from palace section of the last battle

i can get money with the cheat, but it disappears with the quartermaster i'm on -whatever, then it goes up to most -5 but then goes back down to god knows what else

You could sell God Item, you get lot of money, and other thing I feel cheat are good for story, Why, if your party die, it's kill my role playing so I have to start over, but this Godly Item help me not to start over, so I can get on story all way to end, it's make more sence story since you shouldn't drink heath polise lot, it's like watch movies, yet you still choice how story going while you are watch, it's may be boring, but it's better than have a your party dead in 50 hours play yet not done with story but has to start over for me. I don't feeling like reload, if my party is dead, it's dead. I know I'm wierd to some other people, ha!

Keeping in mind those console commands were for game debugging prior to the game shipping and were not meant for use on an active game because you can easily corrupt game data with them.

There are things you might mess with that won't show a problem until many hours later, which can completely hose a game in progress. Just an FYI.
