I'd personally like to see a half-qunari, if that's possible.

Bah, I hate the Alistair being half-elf idea. Hopefully, it's some other Maric brat. I'm sure he has dozens of b*stards.
Whoooa, don't diss Maric! <3
He was a delicate soul. I think Cailan and Alistair are his only children. He seemed to be punishing himself after the deaths of Katriel and Rowan.
I kinda love the Alistair being a half-elf king. I hope he finds out somewhere along the line. It would be a big step for Ferelden equality.
I support playing as half races but apart from origin, you won't really look much different.
Elf + any other race = the other race all the time.
Human + Kossith would be interesting.
And Dwarf + Kossith... would be very odd..

If the nobles find it, they'll have him kicked out or killed straight.

If he's a good king, I doubt it.
Teagan wouldn't care, or Eamon, or Fergus.
I'm sure a few others are open minded too.

No. Elves are over-written. It's something unique to their genetics.

Well they get pretty pissed if City Elf (Their hero and saviour)/Soris/Shianna become nobles and cause a riot and Shianna dies, so I doubt they're that open minded.
Edit: Oh and I'm sure Teagan and Eamon wouldn't do anything but that's because they want the Theirin blood line to continue, not everyone shares their opinion.

This was already said, probably, but I believe in the DA:O codex half-dwarves were known to exist.

A unicorn!

but Dragon Age "half-elves" are humans with an elven parentDarkKnightHolmes wrote...

Does it really make a big difference to you whether Alistair's mother was a human servant or an elf mage?
Either way he is human

It makes his side mission pretty meaningless if Alistair is half-elf since Goldanna wouldn't be his half-sister anymore and I think that side mission is a part of Alistairs character. Plus it would a bit sad if someone said, "Hey Alistair, you know that poor maid mother you never knew you but cared so much about? Yeah not your mother at all, sorry."

I'd find it hilarious and I actually like the idea.

As far as we know Maric only fell in love twice(ok 3 times, but the Queen was a matter of growing to love her, not the more direct love he had for the other two). He at no time pursued any sort've daliance while he was married. If he could've, I think he would've married the second elf. As long as she was still alive I doubt he'd pursue another affair(Maric strikes me as a person who is only emotionally in love with one person at a time).

Yes, in DAO Soris marries a human woman in an epilogue slide. They have many children.

Humans are prejudiced against elves. Elves try to preserve their species by keeping to themselves.
it can happen but it's likel;y to be awkward

Yes. Reason Maric doesn't marry his second elf affair is because the nobles of Denerim are not exactly the most tolerant people. The reason he doesn't marry the first is cause, well, y'know.

I dunno about that. Alistair's supposed elven parent isn't just elven. She was also Orlesian, and a mage. That's three strikes right there.
Eamon only cares about Theirin blood.
Teagan proabably cares more about Alsitair as a person and if you are a female elf Warden, and you click some certain dialogue points with Teagan, he gets quite flirtatious, so I'm sure he doesn't hate elves, at least, not the ugly ones.
Cousland Family seemed to treat elves nicely (Teryna Cousland was nice to Iona).
Other than that, I don't think many more Fereldans would be openminded.

Because of their dwarven blood, they would not be able to do magic. Even if the human was a mage, I would think.Foopydoopydoo wrote...

I'm relatively sure that all the races "overwrite" the other in some way. Humans + elf = human. Basically. For instance. The others probably can't interbreed, or the same mechanic is in place dwarf + human = human. I'm pretty sure Kossith and anything else wouldn't be able to make babies anyway. xp
If I remember correctly, dwarf+human=half dwarf.
Taller than a dwarf, shorter than a human.
Huh. You learn something new every day. I wonder if they would be able to do magic?
Maybe Sandal is a half-dwarf? Maybe dwarven blood overwrites human blood, and his human parent was a mage? He does have wide ears, I don't know if that's a trait specific any race, in DA. That's some thing to think about...
