Would you like a customizable camp or even fortress, where you have to gather resources to build training grounds, armory etc?

I don't think I would care enough to use it actually. I play dragon age for the stories not to play sims.
I'm not against it though.

This will be part of a day-one DLC pack under the name An Inquisitor's Hearthfire.

I would like it but I would prefer some type of base where everyone would sleep and stay all of the time.

I assume you mean something like Vigil's Keep but with more customization options. Yes I would like that very much.

Given that we are about to visit a lot of location, maybe even Tevinter Imerium, I would prefer a personal ship. Easier to customize.

I'd love this. I loved being able to upgrade your fortress in DAA and would love for that idea to be expanded upon in DA3.

I'd like something like Awakening with new decorations popping up in response to quests you complete.

As an inquisitor I hope instead of a camp we get an office, with an obese accountant, a hot secretary and lists with the finest equipment dropped at my desk. Lists which I will read with a monocle while sipping tea and dictating my orders to my assistants.

Optonal cat to caress while deciding the fate of the world optional. Maniacal laughter obtainable via DLC.

I think, if the BioWare team decided to try something like this, what I would prefer is a type of upgradable home base, kind of like how you could make upgrades to Vigil's Keep in Awakening. However, unlike in awakening, these upgrades could be visible.

Example: the PC's wealth increases, so you want to get some reinforced doors. Maybe now instead of just thick wooden doors, you also get an iron gate. Then again, maybe the PC cares nothing for security, they want their base to be more luxurious, so instead of going for the iron gate, you get some swankier furniture ('richer" textures?), and maybe some silk curtains, carpets, house plants and throw pillows.

Also unlike Awakening, I wouldn't really want this to have any kind of... in-game effect? Like "Because you invested in throw cushions over an iron gate, EVERYONE YOU LOVE IS DEEEEEAAADDDDDD!" but maybe a mission where your upgrade choices are reflected?

Like, you didn't value security, now 'x' item has been stolen from you, retrieve it.

You got the iron gate? Cool, look at this jerk we caught trying to sneak it! Find out what he was after, who hired him, and go mess the tosser up.

Obviously none of this is super necessary/integral in a storytelling sense, but if BW ever wanted to try something like this, that's how I'd prefer to see it implemented.

During one of the sprint review days didn't Mark Darah tweet something about "Helms Deep meets the Batcave"? I'd forgotten how much I miss the speculation a new bioware title brings...

Yeah, I agree. Like I said before I definately want this. But I forgot to mention I don't want it to have any in-game effects. If they have to have some effect on the game make it just so that a couple of them do, like you can upgrade the doors or hire more guards to increase security. But everything else is just for visual effect or something like that.

Yeah, I feel like if there were high stakes consequences involved, everyone would start upgrading their homes/keeps the same way.  it would be more about getting the 'best possible ending' than personalizing a home to the PC's tastes.

Alternatively, I have some other ideas.

Maybe instead of having the PC purchasing upgrades out of their own own pocket, they could be aquired in a more quest based fashion?  Kind of like how the mine worked in DA2... only with actual benefits this time. XD

Example: Someone who owns a lucrative mine runs into a problem.  The PC uses their muscle to fix it.  The mine owner thinks that it would be good to have a business partner around that can handle the cavern nasties and offers to go into a partnership with the PC.

From there, the PC can get letters from their business partner whenever they have a problem.  Taking care of the problem gives them funds that they can use to upgrade their residence.

There was a couple of mods that made the camp even better - and I always went back there in DAO.

Yes, a customisable camp would be awesome - really didn't like the half hearted way DA2 handled having characters standing around their home locations.

Wow, I haven't even thought about that idea. Sounds pretty sweet. Your sir(or mam) are a genius!
