Dynamic Quests (Example- The DAO Quest "Captured!")

Speaking of which, that's something that should be carried into DA3- dynamic quests having entry points through dialogue AND combat failure rather than one or the other.

I didn't play MOTA, but was the quest given when you failed an objective or lose a fight.Renmiri1 wrote...
Didn't we have the exact same quest in Mark of the Assassin ?

Hopefully DA3's missions can live up to Captured!

There SHOULD be different quest paths depending on class, to be honest.
Devs said they're trying to make the world more reactive to your class and your(probably singular) specialization. Blood mage bending weak minds to his whim.

A. Warrior-"Ahh, lets bash our way through a weak spot. Bound to be one around here."
B. Mage-"Not a problem. We can cast our way through to the other side."
C. Rogue-"Can't spell 'impassable' without 'ass' and I'm about to make an ass out of these Orlesians with one word. Lockpicks."
Companion- "Actually, lock picks is two words. And uhh, we can't pick the lock of the door, that's kind of the point of it being impassable."
Rogue-"No one asked you to be logical, now shut up and go find somewhere we can sneak around. Jerk."

Oh look, an impassable door. Guess we can't enter the party. Well, we're boned. Oh wait-

Uh, it'll probably be a bit more creative than that.
Though if a warrior, or a reaver, gets to break down a door(break down, not break open) I will be ecstatic. Bonus points if you can yell "Honey, I'm home!"
Man, now I really want a "storm the castle" bit.

i LOVED that quest in origins. i was kind of let down in MoTA because i felt like they set us up for a similar one, and then chickened out. i also liked how having one of my companions get kidnapped in DA2's best served cold gave us a similar experience.
seems like there will be a million opportunities for them to work in a pc or pc companion quests along those lines. there's certainly going to be a ton of rival factions out there who would love to shut us down or blackmail us. plus, if most of it IS in orlais, it seems like the grande game will give them plenty of excuses. if nothing else, just plain old-fashioned kidnap and ransom by thugs works, right?
or course, it's mostly a just for LUTZ thing. even in DAO both captured! quests (and i'm including the duster origin) didn't seem to have any long term impact. it was mostly quest candy. not that i'm complaining, mind you, but there is some opportunity to make a similar quest with actual impacts, yes?

They COULD do long term versions though. With ramifications. Like The Suicide Mission in ME2, minus the actual immediate character deaths.

Loved tricking the guard to come in my cell, naked... and ambush him.
Loved dressing up as a guard with Alistair.
Escaping was more fun than being rescued I found.

Now I have to go back and play it again. With all the times that I have played it I have always fought my way out and never just waited for anyone to come save me. Have to go through it again and choose that option.
OH MY GOD PLEASE DO.
There are serious lulz. Make a save right before the fight against Ser Cauthrien so you can repeatedly surrender to her and then pick different squad options to come save you.
Hilarious results.
