What soundtracks from previous DA games do you guys think should be used as a basis for new soundtracks in DA3?

I only liked the origin's song "This is war" and that's it.I got the free soundtrack dl with my da2 pre-order but sadly nothing turned my ear.

I'd like to hear a more emotional / dramatic soundtrack for certain scenes.

Hawke family theme if Charade is a party member, or if we meet any other Hawke family.

Qunari theme for the qunari.

Party camp theme somewhere or other. It was nice and serene.

Really memorable themes are few and far between though tbh

Very, very nice. I liked the DAII soundtrack and all - But a lot of tracks just didn't have enough melody to them. They just seemed like average fantasy tracks.

More melody and emotion for DAIII please. That song is a perfect example!

Inon Zur said he was rushed to complete the DA2 soundtrack, so hopefully he's having more time to complete DA3's.

I am looking forward to hearing Inon Zur's next sound masterpiece. I hope they continue to use more vocals and historical instrumentation to sound like the period in which it takes place (before guns). Also hoping for another Dalish language song!

I like this! It's pretty good :)

I have to say, with the exception of the two modern end songs, I was pretty unimpressed with the DA:O and DA2 soundtracks. Compare this to the ME3 soundtrack, which pretty much brought me to tears again and again and AGAIN. I actually got on iTunes and downloaded the damn thing ... which I NEVER do (cause I'm pooooor as a church mouse).

DA peeps! You gotta step up your game. (Um, literally, haha)  There was a high cheese factor to the DA:O music. I felt like I was in high school again listening to Enya. (Yes, I listened to Enya in high school >.>) DA2 lost the cheese factor but was just ... blah. There were a couple times when I was a wee bit moved ... when Hawke and co. head to the keep in The Last Straw and again during the very, very last scene. But that's it. Definitely no tears. Just maybe, maybe got a goosebump or two on my arms.

Hopefully we get more character specific themes this time around. If every companion had their own theme song my ears would be happy.

I agree - The tracks need to be more emotional and melodic - Not just 'typical fantasy game' tracks.

Right, and just because it's fantasy doesn't mean it has to be generic and a bit hokey! I mean look at Howard Shore's score for the LOTR films. Now I know Shore is a master so the comparison is probably unfair, but it's just to say that DA3 needn't have an Enya-esque medieval faire type soundtrack just because it's fantasy, you know?

No insult to Enya; I love her, but, yeah xD

One theme Inon Zur amazed me with in DA2- Qunari on the Rise

More of that. Especially that build up to the epic ending of the track. Still gives me chills.

At the risk of provoking marketing to continue using that absurd "think like a General, fight like a Spartan" tag, 300 did have a ****in' soundtrack. And, for that matter, so did any game with a soundtrack by Frank Klepacki. Let's get some more electric guitars and drums up in here.

Unrelated to that, Howard Shore is always good. If we're sticking with game composers, Jeremy Soule and Mark Morgan.

Really, I like Inon Zur's work, but both games thus far have really lacked any truly memorable pieces. Certainly nothing on the level of ME's "Victory", "Legion", or "Leaving Earth".

"Think like a General, Fight like a Spartan" is dead and buried.

Maybe Bioware could reach out to Howard Shore to do a few tracks? It's not unknown for big name composers to do game soundtracks nowadays. Hans Zimmer has worked on a few and Bioware even got Clint Mansell for ME3. God imagine if they did get Shore - It would immediatly make DA3 awesome.

i hadn't heard that, nor had i suspected it.  he did an amazing job on both games.

personally, i want the party camp theme back at some point.  that piece still tugs at my heartstrings.

i'd also like to see something a little different from the traditional symphonic pieces, tho.  not for every part of the game, because i still love that epic feel that you can't get without a whole lot of string instruments in the score, but why should the more comtemperary sounding pieces only occupy the credits?  just a random thought.
