Bullsh*t! What's that suppose to mean? Do you have reason to believe, that she has male sex organs? Just because a woman is strong, assertive, and no nonsence; doesn't make her manly. I happen to like woman characters like that.
Here are some other strong female characters:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Xena the Warrior Princess
Sarah Conner -Terminator
Caprica 6 -Battlestar Galactica
Zoe Washburne -Firefly /Serenity
Delenn -Babylon 5
Susan Ivanova -Babylon 5
and the list goes on and on...
I wouldn't call any of these women manly

Being dominant doesn't make a woman manly, but because of traditional genders, it doesn't help. Leliana is an example of a girly girl.
Also... if you think Ivanova wasn't manly in B5, you and I didn't watch the same series
Outo f that list, Delenn, Caprica, and maybe Xena were all feminine. I can't make judgments on Buffy because I never watched it.

Get back to his world domination? The goals of each PC seem so weak, why would you allow yourself to be ruled when you have the power to rule?
The Hero of Ferelden can become Teyrn of Gwaren or Arl of Amaranthine, and Anders regards a pro-mage Champion as a potential leader of the mage rebellion.

I like girly girls like Leliana too. Traditional genders might be a problem for some people, but not me. Though i don't like weak male role models.

I own the series. I watch it at least once a year. Very little of any worth on TV these days. I don't see Susan as manly, i see her as a strict military officer. She was second in command, and went through a lot of battles. She had a softer side, you got to see it once in a while. Though it occurs to me, you man be talking about the fact that she was bi.

Watch the earlier Xena episodes, you'll see what i mean. You didn't think Zoe was feminine? I can remember a few scenes, were she was. In the Terminator 1 and The Sarah Conner Chronicles, we got to she Sarah's feminine side, plus her tough as nails -no bullsh*t side. Oh and i forgot one: Anna Lucia Cortez -Lost.
One of the first strong female characters i was exposed to was Susan Richards - The Fantastic Four. The comics not movies. Years ago they killed Reed Richards off for a couple of years, and she took command of the team. Her character really grew from a support team member, to a bad*** leader.

That would make it more interesting though, she is a very strong independant woman. Now imagine Cassandra is in your party while doing a quest, listens to whats happening and wants to do something her way,BUT the Inquisitor buts in and say were doing it my way.It could lead to some interesting confrontations and dialogue.Would be even more interesting if she was romancable.brownboy77 wrote...
I dont think shes too "manly", but I think at this point shes too much a leader or used to doing things her way to be a companion.

Perhaps we'll finally move onto companions which can do things by themselves.
Anders could do plenty of stuff all by himself, and everybody in the playerbase loved him for it
I liked Anders when he was in Awakenings(with Greg Ellis voicing him and David Gaider writing him). The "Anders" that was in DA2 was not the same guy I knew and loved. This is just my opinion, of course. I know that the DA2 version of him has alot of fans and I don't begrudge them for liking him one bit.
Back on to the subject...I think Cassandra could be a fine companion, although she could never take the place of my bff, Leliana.
Holy crap, you are awesome.

*phew* (ish, at least not complaining that dur she ugly cuz she do man things)
But yeah,
feminity =/= competence and assertiveness is not a rule. Kinda sounds sexist and might ****** off every person that played a FemHawke or Lady Warden, just saying

Okay i genuinely have so much trouble with the whole wording of this statement that I just have to let it out.
I'm really happy that you're a fellow Cassandra fan, and it's awesome that you think that she's awesome, but "manly"? How is she "manly"? And how does "manliness" make one unfit to be a companion?
Is her appearance "manly" because her hair is short? Because she's tough? I have short hair and a black belt in tae kwon do, but I wore a pink miniskirt today, whith a pair of 5 inch heels. Am I manly? Why, because I know how to take care of myself like a big girl?
Also, similar judgements of female strength could be made of other companions, like Aveline. Is she too manly to be a companion?
And how the hell does manliness make a character a bad companion? So all of those male companions are, what, feminine?
I think Cassandra is strong, versatile, unique, well-rounded, intelligent, and sexy as hell. And I can hardly wait to accompany her in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I only hope she's romancable, and it's not another Aveline situation.

Feel free to start up a new Cass thread to discuss her more in depth, if you'd like.
