A murder knife in the face.
EDIT: Actually it was a sword in the face. But if he's a grey warden eh, maybe he's hanging out with the rest of them?

I don't think he would wander to far from Ferelden. Isn't the only way he could still be alive is to be a gray warden? If they stick to their code then they wouldn't be getting involved in the war. Then again I doubt it would take much to convince him if he was told he got to kill Orlesians.

Most of my PCs get Loghain's head chopped off, part of the army was sacrificed by him and many people died due to the darkspawn... all because he wanted to be king, yeah I wasn't letting him live.
And if your playing as a character who doesn't really care, well he betrayed one master already...

He'll be in Orlais, we'll see him punch a chevalier in the face and riding away to Ferelden on his horse yelling "The Orlesians are coming! The Orlesians are coming!"

If he is in the game then he'll be a Grey Warden helping them do whatever secret thing they have going on. I think it would be funny to see him in Orlais. HA the irony.

A great tactician and legendary warrior who's battlefield prowess is needed to save the world, leading to an uneasy alliance between The Inquisitor and him, with us all knowing that at any minute that Logain can turn on The Inquisitor.
Dead? Well, so you thought.............

His head is mounted on the Warden's office wall, and his stuffed carcass is a coatrack.

I will go to the Weisshaupt and put some flowers at the tomb the wardens built him for his noble sacrifice in stopping the Archdemon. Otherwise in my save where he's alive I'd like to fight by his side in Jader against a bunch of Chevaliers where he is trying to get back across the border into Ferelden to help in the new Ferelden / Orlesian war or something =D

Just because he may be dead in some people's games doesn't mean he's dead in everyone's. I would love a mention of him, but considering his short cameo in Awakening and his non-appearance in DA2, I doubt there is a role for him.
(When I say "a mention of him" I mean something other than a throwaway line about his horrible and painful death at the hands of Orlesians.)

In my game? His role is fertilizer. YMMV

he's dead in most of my games, so he has no reason to be in da3 for me, unless its an optional cameo role for those who spared him, but i just cant spare a traitor who tried to frame my warden then have us killed, and at the cost of alistair who had been there from the beginning, its a shame coz loghain was a really good character, and his v.a did a great job with him, but i very much doubt we will see more than a short cameo from him

Assuming he's alive, Grey Warden representative to Orlais. He'll be happy to tell the Inquisitor that the Grey Wardens will not get involved in the current non-Darkspawn related troubles because they have no desire to risk their neutrality or the goodwill of the nations they rely on for recruiting.

His role will be minimal, since he is likely dead in a large majority of imports.
However, in the case where he is alive as a Grey Warden, remember that he was sent to Orlais. So if the Grey Wardens appear, it's possible he'll have a cameo.

If alive, he's a Grey Warden stationed in Mont Simmard.
Which is in Orlais.
A small cameo - do want.
