New Game: First Two SMG Mods on Mars do not function

Imported character from ME2. This is my first time playing ME3.
Unlike the earlier armor upgrades, the two SMG mods do not popup in the lower right hand corner of the screen with a message confirming the upgrade. When attempting to use the first workbench on Mars, the Modify button does not appear for the SMGs.
The shotgun upgrade, which appears shortly after the first workbench, does display a popup message. Returning to the workbench allows me to Modify the shotguns, but still not the SMGs.
Apparently something is bugged with these two particular SMG mods in my installation. Attempting to upgrade the installation, or repair it, and then play through (even from another new game), does not change this behavior.
I have not yet tried without an imported character.

but yeah sometimes on the way through the game you will see mods in various areas and not be able to pick them up once you have leviathan dlc installed which forces you to purchase them, still everytime you do a mission more mods are avaialble in the store's it just annoyed me but i'm hopeing they will fix it wiht the next dlc offering if not release a patch that removes all the stupid bugs leviathan created, like where you can get stuck in the bridge if you go to chat to joker, my advice is save often so you wont loose hours upon hours of game time when you do find one of the manny new mapping glitches>>>

Occasionally (and commonly for the first two on Mars), picking up the mod won't unlock the corresponding upgrade.
There isn't really a known workaround for this. It's possible reloading from an earlier save or restarting the mission could resolve this (picking up the mods again, you may get the upgrade to properly unlock), but in my experience that almost never works. You can try starting a new game (the first time I encountered this issue, I tried it again with a new game and it worked), but there's no guarantee it won't just happen later on (this can happen in other places—it's not just those first two SMG mods on Mars).
If you miss the mods in this way, they're not made available in the Spectre terminal later (you could also try skipping them for real—don't even bother to pick them up—and then they'd likely appear in the store after the mission, although I've never tried it).

all mine apeard in the store's once i had networked em all to the ship but only if i bought them via the ship i know its rather a gash way to do things but its a half baked workaround ><devSin wrote...
