Those robes for women mages have those dumb outlines around the boobs.  Redesign them, please? They make you look like you have old lady boobs + no bra.

Also, if you wear mage clothing and you put on boots or gloves - they don't show up. Why does mage clothing trump your cool boots and gloves? It doesn't have to!

If we're talking about Origins. That really didn't count as a bra. If we're talking about DA2...that still didn't really count as a bra. It was more like a cute top I could wear outside (if it weren't an ugly purple).
And what old lady boobs are you talking about? Even bra-less they looked pretty un-sagged to me.
I guess they wanted to reduce clipping. If possible, I would have worn the Mage champion boots with every single armor. Those things have some sharp edges.

There's a thread for mage pants.

People don't have boobs on their legs.

This is kind of a silly topic, but yeah - the boob lasso dress was ghastly. It was such a relief when DA2 removed the ability to put random companions in outfits they'd rather burn than wear. Sten in Chantry robes, anyone?

This is OT, but I rather enjoyed dressing my companions inappropriately, especially at the very end. Seeing Sten in a mage robe in the hall always makes me giggle. :wizard:

Back on topic, age appropriate clothing options would be very nice.

Yeah, it looked really silly. Pretty much all robes and leather gear was poorly designed in Origins though. Hopefully they don't go back to that for DA3.

We all did it. I did. My mom would have done it if she played DA:O. It was still very naughty of us. Poor Sten. :innocent:

I would love the robes to look like this:

It's even the concept art! Why did they not implement this? It looks a lot better than the unflattering robes we ended up with in both games.

I want more mage outfits like the Fugitive's Mantle, that outfit looks so darn good on females. I despise so many of the mage clothes in the games that I never wear anything but that one. I also use a mod for Origins so I can wear the same outfit there <3

Most robes in both DA:O and DA2 looked terrible in general. I found myself sticking with armor long after I should have ditched it for better ones because the others looked so bad.

It's not just mage pants we need; it's better robes as well.

It's "Mage Gear".

We have a mage pants thread, a female mage robes thread, a wands thread, a better staves thread...

I think they just need to go back to the drawing board on clothing and gear for mages.

I think something like Altair's outfit would look nice on a mage. Change it up a little and add some things specific to mages, but I think it's a good place to start.

Agree completely. The Fugitive's Mantle is an excellent example of how to make Mage "Robes" look practical, yet awesome.

In fact, I think the majority of DLC gear is far superior in design than the core armours available. Even NPC items not strictly available to the player (outside of modding) were of superior design than the core armours available.

I thought the mage gear Bethany wore at the beginning of DA2 was cool (for girls). Whenever I started out as a mage I was like, "GRR! WHY CAN'T I WEAR THE SEXY CHAINMAIL-LOOKING MAGIC CLOTHES?"

Right now my DA2 mage is wearing an apostate robe and she's got the low slung booby thing going on. And she's wearing dopey little flats on her feet even though I equipped the BOOTS OF THE FROZEN WASTE! argggghghghghghghghghghhghg

While I am a proponent of mage pants, I will support mage robe with built in bust enhancements. This is good sense.

In fact, I tentatively support mage robes that come to mid thigh, like short terry cloth bathrobes that I will talk no more about because this is a family website.

The question is - why do mages even wear robes? It pops up all over every type of fantasy game but it never seems to make sense. It seems like an awkward kind of clothing to wear, especially if you anticipate being in the middle of combat. Not saying that shirts and pants are the right answer either.

Something like the Fugitive's Mantle in DA2 is great (as was mentioned before in this thread).
