Uh yeah? The Old Gods actually have actual proof that they exist. Shrines that still work, the fact that most of them are corrupted, and leading Darkspawn.

What does the maker have as proof? Some moldy old books, and legions of gullible fools.

You consider "Gods" dragons that can be killed by human hands.
Five times now have your "gods" risen and five times now have they been brought down.

That can only be killed via exploits. (Grey Warden taint thingy).

Also one of the Gods you "killed" isn't dead. Not to mentioned that they may very well be affecting the world beyond the grave. *cough*DUMAT*cough*.

They are brought to their knees by guys wielding pointy pieces of metal. The Taint is just what allows to destroy their souls. As the wise Hulk would say "Puny god".

Urthemiel only survives if you choose to help Morrigan do the DR. Gaider confirmed she did not finds another way if refused.
And the only "proof" of Dumat affecting anything are the crazed ramblings of a Magister who didn't know what year it was and an altar that was probrably enchanted by a Tevinter Blood mage to giver reward and punishment so as to keep the population of Tevinter worshipping an overgrown lizard.
The fact that Corypheus claims Dumat is not responding his prayers gives more credence to the belief Dumat died in the First Blight.

How is that I hate the "new" Anders and I would love to turn him into the Templars but I can't? I mean this is an RPG correct why can't I just get my deep roads map from somewhere else? Why can't I just leave him to rot in the gallows? WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ROLE PLAYING GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss origins it gave me a sense of I'm a guy going against the old doing what I think is right as I go. But now in DA2 I'm stuck doing the same boring rise to power every Fing time with small little details added along the way! I want to have my faith put back into Bioware and I know that they can make great games but please for the sake of all that is holy next time I want to burn a Mage at the stake or fri a Templar with lighting bolts please let me do it.

P.S. also I just want to play as an evil blood Mage for once and to be called out on it I want to be hunted by Templars I want to enslave whole populations with blood magic and i just want to sit on a throne and laugh manically while my demonic legions take over Thedas is that too much to ask for?

Well even if they aren't "true" Gods. They're still immensly powerful, and have far more for Humanity than your Maker did.

A God that don't do **** or give a **** about his followers vs "Gods" who actually do seem to give a ****, and have often helped their followers out.

Decisions decisions...

Either way The Old Gods are better than the "Maker" who may or may not exist. And even if the Maker does exist. He's still a ****ty God who doesn't do anything.

Besides, Dragons are cooler by default.

Edit: I love your avatar btw.

If by "helping" you mean "Fooled them into invading a place that is going to horrendously mutate them and release a Taint into the world that will, eventually, spell the downfall of their empire" then, sure.
The Maker did send his chosen bride to help free mankind from slavery. That was nice of him. It would have been nicer if he had done the job himself what with being omnipotent and all but I suppose we had to prove ourselves worthy or something.

The Maker created the dragons. He is thus cooler.

Thanks.

First of all it was only one of the Gods who tricked the Tevinters(and it might not have been even him!). The other Gods aren't to blame. Also what proof is there that this Maker even exists? There has been no evidence of existence besides one mage woman claiming that her imaginary friend created everything, and is telling her to free people from slavery. Oh, and she marries her imaginary friend. How crazy is she?

One person says the Maker spoke to her. How is that sufficient evidence of a Maker? Especially since the Maker hasn't made himself known before or after Andraste brought it up? One person says something, a bunch of gullible people write some books. And somehow legions of people believe its true?

People are idiots.

Edit: Oh, and I suppose Leliana says that the Maker speaks to her as well. But its obvious that she's off the wall nuts.

Demons talk nonsense through out all of dao and da2 evidence off the top of my head would be the templar who is enarmored in dao and the whole thing with fenreial and also merrills little deal.

Raw lyrium is extremly toxic to humans and elves. dwarfs are the only one who can safly handle it. something that is posinus would not make something like andrastes ashes suddenly have healing properties.

Another bit of evidence is liana returning from the dead saying the Maker was not done with her.

Also you pointed to the Shrines of Dumat as evidence of the old gods and there powers and yet claim that Dumat did not trick the trevinter mages.....even though they are the ones who used the shrines....And the trevintor mage we meet in legacy was screaming that dumat had betryed them.....I really dont know how to respond to this beyond once again stating Dumat sent them to the golden city and F'd everything up. Your spoof was correct. wether you like it or not.

But raw lyrium has tons of magical effects on the world. Besides its only poisonous to the living. Andraste isn't alive anymore she's a pile of burnt skin, and bone. No different than dirt or rock.

Who's to say her deepfried corpse couldn't be affected in such a way?

I never said that it wasn't Dumat who did it. I said that I think it wasn't actually Dumat. And that it may be the Dread Wolf pretending to be him.

My spoof was a parody of why the Tevinters wouldn't have anyreason to doubt someone who they believed was Dumat. Not that it had to actually be Dumat who told them.

Its possible that Dumat was responsible, for whatever reason. But I think it more likely someone who posed as him with the intent to screw the Old Gods, and everyone else over.

hate to rain on everyone's fake-religious hoopla...but last i checked, the religion of the imperium in this stage of the game ISN'T dragon-worship.

they kinda worship the maker like almost everyone else, just under a different institution. maybe people have heard of the imperial/black chantry around here? no? just me?

Yeah we know. We're talking about the Gods before the Andraste fiasco. Don't know how you didn't figure that out.
