Which... you say, despite this thread being basically an echo chamber where a tiny few can shout repeating opinions at one another? Who's living in the confined tower again?Rojahar wrote...
True "Templar Zealots" don't make "support" threads. They instead make sure all pro-mage posters are confined to a single thread where their heresy and abominable trolling cannot endanger the rest of the forum.

Isn't that what the mage supporters are basicly doing?
Backing each other up in an effort to keep the dredded truth (that their idea of free mages is nothing but an irrational dream) away for a few days longer?

- Nearly every free mage encountered thus far in Dragon Age before the collapse of the circle has been a blood mage. This reinforces the idea that freedom for mages only leads to chaos and now with no circle there are bound to be so many more blood mages.
- 99% of mages in Dragon Age 2 were blood mages and crazy. Orinico proved how insane mages are when he resorted to blood magic as a last resort which just shows what mages can do when push to the limits. Asides from that he was involved in many of the blood mage troubles throughout DA2.
- Power corrupts, magic corrupts absolutely. Mages have so much power and can literally bend reality to their will. Do mage supportors really think that mages would all treat their power with caution and not ever become corrupted by them or yearn for even greater power eventually?
- The last time mages ruled the land, Thedas ended up with the Tevinter Imperium which was the capital of slavery and led to the demise of the old elves and the loss of their immortality. Pro-mages are quick to point at how The Chantry launched a crusade against the elves but they forget about what mages did to elves. Mages literally destroyed the old elven race.
- Pretty much every free mage abuses their power.
- While non-mages and non-living things can be possessed by demons, it's mages who the demons look out for most due to their magical power and connection to the fade. Naturally this means mages need some sort of overseer watching over them to make sure any abominations that arise are quickly dispatched before they cause any damage.
- Abominations can literally wipe out entire towns as observed with Redcliffe which was all down to two mages.
Mage supporters are for the most part imprudent and misguided scholars who reason badly who, not being able to understand the templar order, the origin of magic, and other difficulties, have recourse to the hypothesis the freedom of all power and of inevitability of protection.

And I never liked Anders, but he went fully retard in last act of DA2...
Yeah Tevinter is still there and suck like always, also Kirkwal was once part of imperium like everything around, but it was town of slavery. These old chains and statues of slaves don´t look much happy in the country under rule of mages... I have always sided with mages in DA:O because I knew that not everyone is mad blood mage and I could see it, but in the DA2 yet I sided with mages because I believed that circle must be saved also there must be lot of innocent mages like my sis, and everyone know that Meredith is little bit out of her good days - but after mission is not important which side you pick because everyone - templars and mages - went fully retard and even epilogue say it.
You are either with mages rebelling against cruel templars, or you are with templars killing blood mages which tried to sieze power...

One of the interesting parts of DA2's narrative. Shame the narrative was ruined by other things and didn't feature the option to just slaughter both mages and templars with the town guard sparing the innocents among them (though I would still have sided with the templars first).

People want logical common sense arguments about why being pro-templar is the most reasonable route? Here:So based on observational evidences and common sense, the templar order is necessary. Mages need to be watched and when things get out of hand, those watchers need to step in. Naturally mages deserve better treatment but even the new Imperium recognizes the Templar order as a necessarity and the Imperium is still ruled by mages which pretty much says it all.

Even Tevinter uses Circles. EVEN TEVINTER. As crazy and power-hungry magisters are, even they realise the danger of all mages roaming free.

Always loved the templars in Thedas... I really hope DA3 lets us only pick one specialization for our class and that it has meaning in the world. Then finally I can have the true templar warrior I've always wanted.
